My driver's seatbelt has started "grabbing" when I try to put it on. I have to pull the belt out VERY slowly to keep it from locking.

    Any ideas?

Also, how do I even get to the seatbelt mechanism? ('88 Mondial).

I have the same problem on an 87 Mondial Cab (both seats). Looking forward to an answer from someone. It looks like half of the interior needs to come out before the retractor can be accessed.

Looks like this is not a common problem...

Pull the seatbelt all of the way out and hold it.

If you have access to an air source, then blow clean air into the retractor opening first.

Regardless, blow graphite powder lubricant (it is typically sold in small tubes that let you squeeze the dried powder out as if being blown) into the mechanism. Now let the belt retract. Pull it out again and repeat.

You should have your belt back at that point.
