Hi. Hor my 87 Mondial, the drivers seat belt is stuck and wont pull out all the way or retract back, does anyone have any idea how to open up the interior to get to the belt retracting mechanism? there semms to be no way to open up the side pannel that's underneath the rear window where the slit is where the belt retracts into, any suggestions would be very much appreciated... thanks M

No easy access into where the belt mechanism is, requires various trim removal, there is a thread that describes this I recall. Mine stuck once, what I did was pull it as far out as you can, to the end of the mechanism travel, making sure you are pulling straight and down, and then jiggle and tug the belt randomly, and it may spring back into action.

I had the same problem when I removed the passenger seat to tighten the seat back.
In my case the lap belt jammed in the retracted position.
I removed the assembly and attempted to open the roller area only to make matters worse as the whole spring-loaded assembly popped out!
My plan is to just replace the belt/roller unit if I can find one on eBay or other.
    Thanks,
    Greg

    Is it a coupe?
I have a set for sale for a Euro coupe.
The reels work well, the belts are used/worn but functional.
See the below pictures of the actual belts.
You could fit new belt material to the reels for ex.
Check the ads here and let me know if interested.

    To access:
    - take out rear seats, nuts in the middle below the cushion and back rest
    - little screws hold the centre side panel in the rear, where previously covered by the seat back. Remove by sliding it to the rear.
    - the lower panel is held by little screws that were hidden by the centre panel. Remove towards the top
    - the upper panel is held at the front with 1 screw at the bottom, usually covered by the centre panel. There is also a front upper screw behind the B-post trim. Remove the upper seat belt cover and remove the bolt holding the seat belt upper return so you can carefully move the panel sideways enough to remove the screw.
In the back you need to remove the little screws in former seat back side area. The panel come out of the upper rail horizontally.
    - the metal finisher of the seat belt exit in that upper panel remains on the belt. Undo the clips from below, there is a slot toward the "outside" of the panel that allows the belt to be removed from the panel.

    Hope this helps.

Welcome. The parts number for the US cars is different. On US car photos I have seen the buckles positioned much higher up than in the Euro cars. Other than that and certainly homologation differences - I think it would be cross-compatible.

The part numbers for the coupe and the cab are different.
The cab doesn't have a B-post for the upper belt mounting.
I haven't got any sample of the cab belts, or a cab to check and compare.
So I don't know the answer I am afraid.
