    Hi All,

I have someone who drives the car ('85 Euro QV) who is about 5' 5" and I just can't get the seat up close enough for her. I looked at the rail and the notches in the rail and it looks like there is a steel cover braised over the last few notches. I looked at the factory parts catalog and it doesn't show the cover, but I even checked the passenger rail and it has the same cover braised in. Does anyone know what the cover is for? I'm assuming it might be a crash safety thing? Since I need just one more notch, would it be the end of the world to cut in that next notch?

    I have some photos...

    Thanks Franny

Oh, so you did? Looks like it is braised on... How did you get it off? Is there any down side?

    Thanks,

    Franny

You need to remove the seat and work the sliding mechanism until it is free.

My wife can't drive the 308 w/o wearing exaggerated 'stripper' platform shoes.

    Not a 'bad' thing. :D

Removed seat and rail and from memory pried to off. Underneath are the grooved sections.

    Hi All,

Just to circle back around... I loosened up the seat from the floor (actually removed the bolts) and was able to pry off the cover pretty easily with the seat still in the car. Took an entire 15min I think. Now the seat will catch in the forward notches so problem solved!

Thanks again for all your input :)

Michael... What car are do the tracks in your pics fit? They lack the front tabs that bolt to the seat tabs on the 308.
