Seems to be very little action on this forum at the moment. So while it's quiet i will think of the odd question to post! Try this one. My Dino is a UK 74 model, it came to me 2 years ago with static 3 point seat belts. should this car have inertia belts? The belts in the car are definately not original as they are to modern, they are Securon made by Klippan and as they are a bit tatty i am going to replace them but with what i dont really know! G P
according to the english spec booklet, it would appear that the rhd, english cars didn't have inertial style seat belts. the us cars did Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Excellent! that also confirms my other suspicion, that the short belts on the tunnel in my car are actually belts which i thought would be ergonomically better if they were on stalks and low and behold thats what the diagram shows they should be! Tommorow i am dropping them off to a restorer in London for a complete makeover. G P
Just got back from ordering my belts. How long should the stalk pieces on the center tunnel be? I have ordered mine at 250mm (10") but suspect that they ought to be shorter, anyone help???? Regards GP
Didn't I send you some pics of the belts in our '73 (07412) UK model many months ago? I guess it could have been someone else. They are Klippan non-inertial-reel belts. I think I still have the pics someplace, or I can easily take more. PM me w/ your email address if you'd like them. I know that the belts are original. Update: I found the email with the photos (it was last August) and resent it to you. Six or seven photos are attached. It's a good thing I never delete my emails!
