    Hi Guys,

Whats this little numerical keypad box on one of my 308's?

Is it OEM or not? The cars a 79 euro that I'm going to recondition so stripping starts soon.

Never seen it before on a car?

And another thing, are the Fabric inners of the seats original? They have the wear to look original, but I thought they all came in leather?

I want to know if i need to replace these two items back to OEM or whether they are OEM.

    I've included some pics.

Thanks for the help in advance.

The keypad looks like an old Alpine alarm keypad. As for the seats I very seriously doubt that was factory installed but I suppose anything is possible?!?

It looks like the speakers were installed right through the factory grills. If you want it back to stock you will need to replace those too.

The seats should be leather with the pattern specific to your 308 year series. I found a pic for you. The key pad is an aftermarket alarm system. Take is out and remove all the associated wiring. The door speakers should be hidden behind the grill. The toggle switch beside the hand brake is the rear window defogger and should be a rocker style with an amber light. I see you have the original Brico cigarette lighter. They are rare and expensive to replace. I think the steering wheel should be silver spoke for that year also. The guys will correct me if I'm wrong.
Please post some more pics of your car.

Thanks guys, that's great info on both accounts.

Will remove crap alarm, redo seats back to stock and order those expensive alum speaker panels.

I believe the speaker panel should be a leather, not aluminum.

If you want to be really correct, that isn't the right steering wheel either.

    Needs to be silver

And you shouldn't have that little mirror adjuster (what it looks like) down by the handbrake either.

Not picking on your car, just thought you would want to know just in case.

Ok, I defer to your knowledge, but I cant picture anything else there except the covers that had the horse logo. Sorry for my misinformation then.

Hey Tommy, I've seen cloth seats like those in VERY few early 308s. Do you recall ever seeing cloth inserts in other cars? I'd love to know if the car came with those seats...

It's a Euro car though right? Could that be a rear defrost switch instead of the rocker like mine has.

You are right about the speaker grill though. I have mine from my '78 sitting in a box since I never put them back in with the new door panels.

And the steering wheel looks like a Momo still but it's black? I thought the black ones they switched to were Nardi?

Yes it's a euro car, and it is the mirror adjuster next to the handbrake. It's the same spec adjuster as my mondial 8 but my 308 qv has a different adjuster on the door. It doesnt look aftermarket?

'79 had the chrome grills for the speakers as Dr. T. noted.
