Seattle Flight Museum X-mas Tour

Here are a few shots I took during our "before dinner" tour of the Museum of Flight by Fclub member Bruce Patzman. Shot with a cheap 1.2 Meg with no tripod and no flash on most shots because it was too weak. Slow shutter speed, shakey hands.

Sorry for the quality. This is the main "glass house". Impossible to take pictures in during the day as everything is backlit. Unfortunately we did not go into the new Personal Courage Wing where many of the Champlin collection resides.

The FW190 Dora is a Champlin plane. Smaller than I thought.

During our tour there were caterers setting up for the 1000 plus Microsoft people having their party on the main floor, complete with blackjack tables, pool, wetbar and live music.

Everybody doing black tie and gowns.

Fortunately our little group was three floors up so we couldn't really hear the crappy band they had playing.

We watched a very excellent CD edited by Albert Lim of our Walla Walla/Hood River Trip, listed to a talk by Joe Sutter about the birth of the 747, ate good food and enjoyed the people, a record of 117 attending this year.

 

Hope you make good use of that brown box I sent you. It is very difficult finding the right type and size but I managed to get one of the last ones.
