Thanks Taylor! M-Sports are kinda rare in the States, since (as previously mentioned) they were only sold in the USA in 2003. I bought my car up in Vancouver, BC and imported it. They were sold in 2001-2003 in all countries but the USA. You could even order an M-Sport package on a 530! They are a dime a dozen up in British Columbia (and the rest of the world for that matter). Mine is pretty stock, except for a Dinan software change, M-Audio 10" subs (two each; same as in the M5) and ss brake lines.
Dave, what exactly is the M-sport package? M5 suspension? Plus, did you have to convert your car to MPH etc. too?
Way off topic, but...it has a slightly different suspension "M-Sport Suspension II" (not sure of the specific changes), M-tech body kit (M5 front/rear bumpers, rear lip spoiler, M5 front grill), M5 dead pedal, M badging on all door sills, large diameter chrome tail pipe, dark gray headliner, Style 66 17" double spoke wheels (18" wheels were optional on the M-Executive package). Has all the other usual sport package items a USA car has, steptronic trans, lower geared differential, sport seats, sport steering wheel, etc. Importing the car required changing the speedometer to a USA one (not normally required if the speedometer reads MPH in lower case, but BMW's ONLY read in kph). Provide letter from BMW Canada that car meets all other EPA/DOT specs (easy to get) and pay 2.5% duty at the border. Importing cars from Canada is no longer an even "break even" deal right now, as the exchange rate sucks. Current US dollar is worth 1.20 Canadian. When I imported my car in 2003, the exchange rate was more like 1.43 and it was "break even", with buying locally in Seattle.
While standing in front of Claim Jumper at South Center saw a red F430 Spyder - no plates, very nice.
Saw a red 360CS with plate "STRADALE" parked in front of Starbucks on 4th Ave downtown on the afternoon of the 30th. Nice!
I didnt even know they are out yet, I thought the F430 coupe/Superamerica there the only new ferraris to come for the next few months.
Kuzi, How did you get a vanity plate with 8-letters? I thought the state only allowed 7 letters/characters. Is it really "STRADALE"?
Doh! If I knew it was you, I would have come in and said "hi!" I was walking from the valet parking at the Four Seasons to a meeting at the big black BofA bldg.
With my dad today I saw a Red 550 or 575 at some place next to boeing in Everett. There were alot of BMW's and Mercadees in the lot and a few Vette's. Is there a rental place or a new dealer near boeing?
This morning, very nice dark blue Maserati Gransport stuck in traffic on Redmond-Fall City Road. I waved but the driver apparently couldn't spot a black 360 zooming by.
My girlfriend said she saw a Ferrari on Auburn Way at 4pm, red Stradale. She's got an eye for Ferraris. I've created a monster, muhaahaha
Sunday spotted a burgundy 355 (poss spider, don't recall) with new temp tags on 116th Ave, Bellevue around 2pm.
Red/Black 430 Spider F1, WA State license plate ending in CUA. VERY nice. Parked with top UP, tho. Whose car is this??????
Later saw it powering up a hill towards California. Pretty, but could use a Capristo! Also a silver Lotus Elise on Alki Drive.
He kindly displayed his Spider for the event at the Italian Concours d' Eleganceat South Lake Union Park last Sunday. Very cordial fellow. Also, a nice Couple from Arizona, also kindly displayed their Red/Tan F430 Spider. Both conveyed an interest in participating in Club activities. Both optioned for the Ceramic Brake package and are thoroughly pleased. The exhaust note on the F430 is mind boggling and Stock to boot! Hope you got to spend some time at your Family Retreat this Summer Chuck
