What was inexcusable is that Melo had a lap lead and was trying to put the 2nd place car down another lap! What was it? "Pigs get fat, hogs get slaughtered..." - Junior Johnson, explaining DW's first championship...
They've come a long way in a short time. I'm beginning to believe Kevin Doran, David Robertson and Dave Murry when they say that might be a good car for GT2.
From Motorsport.com "The running order in LM GT2 was turned upside down in the fifth hour. After racing unopposed for much of the race, Jamie Melo, who was driving the then class-leading Risi Competizione Ferrari, collided with the second-placed Farnbacher Loles Porsche of Dirk Werner, whom was about to go down a lap. Melo dived to the inside of traffic heading into the hairpin Turn 7, locking up his brakes and ramming into Werner. Both cars retired due to suspension damage. "I went into the hairpin and it was a big mess, with lots of cars," Melo explained. "To avoid it, I went on the inside line and could not stop because I was on the grass. I hit the No. 87 Porsche. I could say it was my fault and I'm very, very sorry for everyone involved."
You should have seen him in practice at T1. Unbelievable! Visibly quicker than anyone else. Including all the P1 and Porsche P2 cars...

Good Lord! Fernandez just turned a 1:46.4 in his P2 Acura. That's pretty strong. Didn't know he had it in him!
p Peter where you? We are in audi hospitality tent across yokohama bridge Audi #2 had turbo problem. Got to get faster with this iPhone. Ford into tire wall no surprise
At home. Was there Wed-Fri working with four clients in vintage/historic races. Cheered on Jonathan Goring's two IMSA Lites race wins with Comprent and unfortunately saw SCCA take friend Seth Thomas' pole away for alleged low ride height. Nice to see a lot of old friends in the paddock and pit lane. They all had to comment on my nice madras jacket! Figured I could see more of the race with Live Timing and listening to Radio LeMans. The Audi hospitality "villa" is pretty impressive. See you sometime soon! Hope McNish prevails over the Porsches!
D@mn. They were climbing up the order. I understand they lost a tire not long ago. Maybe another one?
Yeah I thought I heard Michael Andretti say they were out of it. What a shame, I am a HUGE Herta fan.

And I know I may be in the wrong place to say this, but does anyone else think that the Porsche commercials they have been showing are simply awesome? The Mazda ones are pretty nice too.
Race now in final 90 minutes http://www.planetlemans.com/2008/03/15/sebring-12-hours-ninth-and-tenth-hour-report/ # 37 Intersport Racing Lola B06/10 AER I like the MazdaSpeed commercial a lot with the Star Mazda, Champ Car Atlantic, and ALMS Lola B07/40 Mazda showing some of their drivers.
