    Apart from the great battle between the R15 and 908 at the front of the pack, what was putting a smile on my face was the rather surprising pace of the Robertson Racing Ford GT and the Panoz. The improvements started at the end of last year on the Panoz really showed at Sebring. Now if they can squeeze just a little more speed out of it. One of my favorite moments in the entire race had to be early on when the Ford GT challenged the Flying Lizard Porsche. I betcha Jorg wasn't expecting that! All I can say is more power to the Robertsons and David Murray, and I'd love to see them irritating Porches for the rest of the ALMS season.

    You have to admit, the BMW impressed for a little while during it's run in second place. Teething issues indeed. Looks like the Aston Martin still has engine gremlins. Hopefully they can get it sorted before the LMS season starts.

    Fords are going to be major players in europe this season too.

    Hindie did an interview with the Panoz chap, who was complaining of a parity restriction just imposed on them.
    Think its still up on the radio Le Mans site.

    If I was Bourdais I would be mad as hell. He sets the track record, then gives the car to Montagny, who is 3 seconds a lap slower.

    Imagine being the poor fellow driving the Panoz when McNish decided he had enough of trailing Lamy, the R15 and the 908 flying past the Panoz left and right into the final corner.

    I think there's more to the story than Montagny being slow. Franck had an amazing drive taking the 08 Peugeot from way back, back into contention for the win.

    Can someone explain to me how the ALMS points system works?

    I searched the official website but couldn't find anything.

    Also, how many points did the Risi team/drivers earn for finishing first in class?

    The Rules/Regulations aren't on the ALMS website - they are on the IMSA site - www.imsaracing.net

    2.1 Championship Points (same for Team Champions/Manufacturer Champions)

    1st = 20
    2nd = 16
    3rd = 13
    4th = 10
    5th = 8
    6th = 6
    7th = 4
    8th = 3
    9th = 2
    10th = 1

    For Intermediate Races -those that are 4 hours but less than 8 hours get 5 additional points for class positions 1=10.

    For Long Distant Races - those 8 hours or greater get 10 additional points for class positions 1=10.

    All events require 2 drivers; maximum number of drivers for any ALMS event is 3.

    70% of the distance of overall winning car to be eligible for points and prize money.

    So, to answer your question on how many points did Risi receive for Sebring - that is 30.

    Hope this helps.

    There some good ones here but the the panning shots of the cars at speed at 8 frames /sec are few. They looked good in the viewfinder and my settings were right. I think my autofocus motor in my big lens is bad. Going to camera shop in a bit.
