Congratulations in order for the team. We were by early Saturday am but I was told you were around somewhere. I believe that if you guys would have been out on the grid, things might have ended differently. Liz, Antonio and Darren did a terrific job for you guys.

Looking forward to catching up with you on Saturday morning sometime at the LMS race at Monza in a few weeks.

    Best of luck.

Thank you very much and sorry that I missed you.

We had to change the gearbox after morning warm-up, so we missed the grid and started from the pit-lane. And then the pit-limiter didn't work for our first stop, so we got a stop-go penalty! You just can't give that amount of time away to the Corvettes!

Anyway, Darren and Antonio were matching the pace of the Corvettes throughout the race, and Liz did a very solid job.

And above all, we all had a great time taking part in the ALMS

    See you at Monza!

Rik - just looking at the LMS sked, there's a perfect hole that could be filled with Petit LeMans - any chance of you guys coming back to the states for that one? The fact that it's also a qualifier for the 24 Hours of LeMans could make it a nice incentive.

I am a bit slow, but I was somewhat shocked to see Team Modena to be running Astons in stead of Ferrari´s :D

Of course I wish you and your crew the best of luck regardless!

great looking car. As a Ferrari guy I have to admit that the DBR9 is styling whise THE car. I love the 575GTC but the Aston is just a tad better styling. My all-time favorite. E-mail me once you sell the car. Hopefully the stars are aligned then and I will buy it once you are done racing it.
Funny the paint scheme you chose is what I am doing on a 355 Challenge right now, or at least very close to that. flat black with shiney gray and orange accents.

Great race, great effort. To run close after 12 hours of racing to a factory backed and financed team is honorable. To beat them is....:)

    Congratulations!

Many thanks to everyone for such a good response to the "privateer" Aston and all your kind comments.

My DBR9, chassis number 101, was the first DBR9 customer car and is the most successful privately-owned Aston Martin racing car in the marque's history!

We would love to stay in the US to do all the ALMS races - it would be great fun and great experience, but we would need to secure substantial backing from a US sponsor............

Just to let you know, Team Modena started life many years ago as Modena Cars - independent specialists in Italian supercars. We are now Lamborghini Wycombe and soon to add Maserati to our portfolio. However, the name "Team Modena" has remained! We will also be racing Lamborghini Gallardo GT3 cars in the British GT Championship this year.

    See www.teammodena.com for more information!

Rik - your mailbox is full! ! !

Hi Rik - you might already be aware of this, however, I thought I'd just PM you about what I just read on the ALMS forum - great incentive to make the last two ALMS races ! ! John and I will be at Petit and Laguna Seca, so you already have a "cheering squad" for your Aston.

This year there are monetary incentives to help with the transportation costs if the teams want to run Petit (Oct 6) and maybe Laguna (Oct 20) if they're on their way to Brazil for the Mil Milhas event at Interlagos (Nov 11)

The organisers (Brazil) will transport the cars by ship from Europe to South America, which will include 10 to 15 cubic metres of spares – plus six return tickets, by air, for team personnel. Teams planning to attend Petit Le Mans (October 6) and then head to Brazil will find all their travel costs covered from Atlanta to Sao Paolo (and then back to Europe).

    Regards,
    Carol
