After what happened to you, I don't think I could work up the nerve to drive another RR. Beater Japanese pickup or SUVS for DD duties...T

 

Cadillac XT5 is the replacement. My aunt has driven LRs and RRs for 10+ years and nothing like that has happened.

 

I have a Velar, but you don't need the extra ride height in SD. I would just get a Mercedes-Benz E400 Wagon.

 

I think Maserati overprices the cars but the QP is in a segment with other known names such as MB and BMW that make for strong competition. I am surprised at what happened with your RR but it sounds like it had a defect from the factory that wasn't uncovered in production testing.

 

Since the Velar is still in its first model year, I'm happy that no problems have occurred yet. However, it isn't a very large car, as it's two sizes down for the full size RR. Decent speed, features, capability. Not exciting, but not boring either. Good DD. No Apple CarPlay though. The alternative would be the Macan, but that's a few years old now, and a redesign is around the corner.
