Anyone know where I can get a secondary air pump hose for an early Testarossa? I've tried most of the parts places and no one seems to have one. If anyone has a spare and would like to sell it reasonably, please let me know. It is part number 22 in the diagram.

This should work... but I have not used it. The fittings are confirmed at 25mm OD.

    NEWCO PRODUCTS

The OEM hose seems to have a moulded in 90 degree bend - or my hose might just be old and stiff. Oh well.... it beats old and limp:)

I appreciate the pictures and link to the hose. I'm really trying to find a premolded one.

Are you sure that it's pre-molded, and just hasn't taken a (now) fixed shape after 25~30 years of heat cycles?

They are premolded. Not sure bulk hose will bend at the required radius. Besides, Jim is trying for as original a look as possible.

Jim, who have you tried? Am I to assume Ferrari no longer offers it?

Much as I dislike them Ferrparts does have some obsolete inventory. Might call GT Car parts too. He has the occasional rabbit in the hat.

I took that emissions junk off my car. I still have it though. PM me if you want to make an offer.

Jim's wanting to buy mine. Does anybody have any idea what this stuff is worth? The hose, the filter, and the air pump?

Best to call the guys that sell that stuff like Specialized Italian Recycling or GT Car Parts. For Jims sake I'd like to say $20 but that's not the case. It is important though that the air pump not be frozen or the clutch cooked.

The air pump is likely problematic - i have not checked, but presumably it is nla. Years ago, I bought a new replacement Mercedes unit (Rockauto believe it or not). The only Mercedes units that i have seen these days are rebuilt and only avail in europe.

When I bought the Mercedes unit - the F-car unit was nearly 1,800usd. Mercedes was less than half the cost. BTW - the air nozzles on the F-car need to be moved over to the Mercedes part.

What is it worth (?).... it is worth a considerable markup over what the future buyer of your car will want in the way of discount for the missing parts. My guess - an easy 5k or more.

Call Ferrparts and see what they want....

If it is seized the clutch is usually toast. As such it has little if any value.

    along with that...

My original unit failed due to corrosion. Moisture came in past the check valves. NOW is the time to change your check valves as preventative maintenance. The GM equivalent valves are cheap! AND easy to replace!

Replacing your belts? Replace your check valves too!!!!

Yeah, mine did the same thing. That's why my pump seized. When I lived in Colorado, we had emissions testing. But the people who run the program are completely clueless. I pulled the air pump, capped off the exhaust check valves and they were none the wiser. I passed every year for 9 years. Now I'm in Hawaii and I can run open headers if I so desire.

    thinking out loud here...

why not bend a piece of 3/4" Or 1" SS or even copper line into a 90 deg bend and slide it into the straight section of Newco hose... add some heat (heat gun) to help it bend and insert with silglide.

it won't move around and the air restriction should be inconsequential.

match it up with a mercedes air pump and gm valves and it'll be fully functional system that would require VERY EXPERT eyes to differentiate from OEM.

an inexpensive solution (IF you have the f-car nozzles to fit to the pump). that old, seized pump has value - pull the nozzles - use it for the core charge on a rebuilt mercedes pump.

I finally found one at FerrParts. I had forgotten they never got back to me like the others. After multiple phone calls and emails they finally found a used hose for $50. That's a great deal. They also had everything else but the pump. I have the pump from my other car but I'd like to find one.
