I guess it means that its still bad, just not as bad as you figured. I had the same exact feeling. I just can't get over the tailights...it reminds me of the mid to late 90s Nissan Maxima.

Kinda Hyundai tail light treatment. What is WRONG with BMW these days???!!!

Are they TRYING to drive off the real enthusiast and attract the larger pool of wealth and near-wealthy that want an appliance?

Oh, wait... I'm just an ignorant American, and if I don't appreciate Bangle's designs it just means that I'm a backwards hick. Well, good luck with that Mr. Bangle.

I find it funny and ironic that you call yourself an "ignorant American" and "Uro Trash". Come on now, which is it?

If they had left the kidney grills along I would love the front of the car, but I cannot get used to those ugly grills. And the rear-end? Horrible. Why doesn't Bangle leave the BMW trademarks alone. The tail-lights should be rounded off squares for the rear lights. Not this damned concave angle crap.

stop blaming Bangle for once people. This thread is like reading all the letters in Roundel for the past year about how Bangle destroyed this or that. He's not the only one...he's got plenty of people working under him...plus BMW corporate gives the ultimate approval.
I happen to like the new 3-series...maybe i'll even trade for one...if I don't get a 911. Those are just pre-production photos anyhow...the car will look different in production form. I think it's good looking...it's following the same sorta lines as the fantastic 7- and 5-series. BMW is doing just fine with their current designs. Who wants the same old boring japanese cookie cutter cars? Mercedes is also boring...but they "spice" things up by putting monster engines in the cars.

    I back BMW design 100%.

32Five, You're joking right? The entire revamping of the BMW line is making it more Japanese looking, not less.

I know, I know... Just trying to play with the words!

I remember the thread about advertising your business on your car... everyone thought his would be best!

2007 : Leftovers at BMW. 3 series. 0 down. 0% APR. 0 payments. Someone get these off the floor!

Seriously ... WTF? Are they all blind over there? That is the most pathetic design ever. The brand new Hyundai 3 series.

being a BMW lover (and fading fast, but not because of design), I happen to like the new 3 series.

The 6 and 7 series are brilliant designs as well. Just like any drastic redesign, they took some folks a while to get used to, but they are selling, so they must be doing something right.

    Quality on the other hand...

If I was joking I would have put "lol" or "hahaha" or "j/k" in my post. I'm not kidding...and bmw looks nothing like the boring Jap cars.

yea...it will take time for the designs to grow on people. However for me it took no time. For all you guys hating the car...so many more love it. Those cars are selling very well so it's not a majority of haters.

Woof, another car hit with the Bangle stick. Looks like a cross between an X-type Jaguar and a Hyundai. Not as ugly as a 5 and way less ugly than a 7 (which BTW, 32Five, is selling poorly in contrast to the previous 7 model mostly because of its hideous looks. And the ridiculous I-drive).

I dont mind the body design on the modern BMW's as it will grow on you as you see more of them on the road. Also the new gadgets are nice as well, active steering, heads up display, etc.

The problem is the i-drive. That has to go.
