I got 2 FXX and 1 Elite Enzo today. HW did improve its Enzo in the Elite series. I have made a rough comparison between the FXX, Elite Enzo and normal Enzo. Even though the Elite Enzo has improved, but the Enzo rims are still undersized. The best modification is to replace the original rims set by the FXX rim and tires. That's will be a perfect match. HW has enhanced the the engine and interior alot in its Elite Enzo. I will show more comparison in photos in 4 categories, their interior, front hood, engine, and rims. Enjoy.

    The sequence is

    Left: Normal Enzo
    Middle: 2 FXX
    Right: Elite Enzo

    Just a couple of questions:

    1. Is the Elite Enzo worth the extra cost when compared to the standard Hot Wheels Enzo?

    2. How do you feel about the wheels on the FXX being silver instead of black?

    3. Where did you get the FXX?

Thanks for posting all the pics!

I have to say that I am underwhelmed by the Elite series based on these pictures. I was expecting Kyosho attention to detail at this price range but I doesn't seem to have it.

    1. Is the Elite Enzo worth the extra cost when compared to the standard Hot Wheels Enzo?

It has to see the actual selling price, let's assume 60-70USD, I think the price is acceptable. But if the price is around 50-55USD, I can think it is a good deal. The engine looks good and quite detailed like the Tamiya 1/12 Enzo. There were a few photoetch in the interior of Elite Enzo. Overall, looks alot better than normal enzo. However, the rims and tires of Elite Enzo are still too small. I would like to use the FXX rims and tires to replace the Elite Enzo rims and tires. After doing this modification, it is EXCELLENT. The quality will look close to the BBR 1/18 Enzo. The paint of the Elite Enzo is imporved alol also. The paint is more redish, unlike the normal Enzo which is somehow looks like orange..... Well, my photos did not show the difference, and you have to get one on your hand to feel it.

    2. How do you feel abou the wheels on the FXX being silver instead of black?

It doesn't matter, the show FXX is in silver rims, but if you like it black, you can just paint it. I am ok with that. Personally, I love both colors. On the other hand, I already have my 1/12 Tamiya FXx installed the APM 1/12 FXX rims set. I am happy with that already. It doesn't matter.

    3. Where did you get the FXX?

I believe these are Factory samples for pre-order. I obtain them in good price under some secret source. Sorry, I can't mention it here, otherwise, I will be in BIG trouble.......

I'm just wonder why HW put carpets to Elite Enzo ? I mean , the original Enzo do have only cf floor and that's it. . . .

Cheers for posting those pics Mike, I think I'll definitely be getting a couple of FXX's just so I can paint the rims black on one of them. As for te Enzo; I'm lucky enough to already have the BBR 1/18 and no matter how hard Mattel try they won't match that! The FXX looks okay to me though.

Although difficult to find Hot Wheels Ferraris where I live, I will also probably try to pick up a couple of them. On one of them I will paint the wheels black, but I am not sure how I am going to get the lip of the wheel painted red.

    Any ideas?

I think the best way to do it would be to take the rims off (somehow) then attach them; one at a time, to a drill and spin them on a medium speed while holding a fine paintbrush dipped in Tamiya gloss red paint. make sure you have a steady hand though! As soon as I get an FXX I'll do it and post pics!

I think Chow has the original mold from the original maker, but he is not making it...

Well, any comment of the Koenig F48 transkit that is upcoming by APM?
