Dammit, this is nasty!!! A dishonoured act towards car fans, their customers and to the Ferrari brand!!!
This case just happened to the Yellow F430. The UML has about 200 1/18 F430 for sale, I found a lot of them has minor defects, but you search around the ebay, there were no yellow F430 over there... What a poor marketing practise.
Here are some photos for the BBR 1/18 Enzo: Rims: Interior: Seat: Engine and Engine Gap: Front: Rear and spoiler:
slk99, do you know which shop usually stocks HW? I am more interested in the Ferrari F1 models but it seems I can never find them in Hong Kong. I was at UML some days ago and saw they had F2005 and R25 1/18's but I think they arrived only in early May. However, if you look around, those models had been available in eBay (and model shops overseas) for a long long time already. Also, prices were not really cheap, maybe due to the lower demand? I can probably order from China for lower prices including shipping fee. Sorry for my rant but I really wish Minichamps would have access to the Ferrari brand in the future, but I don't really see it happening due to HW.
I have no interest in F1, so I did not try to look for HW F1... but you know Hung Hing at Jordon sometimes have some HW F1, you can check it out.
Yes, a model shop at HK, named Universal Model Limited, it imports HW 1/18 models, but it is very slow.... ApeGen, is it possible to get the yellow 250GTO and Elite F40 at your side and ship to HK, I found most US seller charge a extreme high postage (about 50-70% of the actual postage used)
Hi All, I have made a comparison web for the HW Enzo, HW Elite Enzo, HW Elite FXX and the BBR Enzo. It review the details of these models easier and you don't have to click all links I posted up before. http://www.procarz.com/my/4enzo.html http://www.procarz.com/ Mike
Hi Michael, I visited your website before and didn't know it's your's! It is awesome! Great review on the HW 1/18 Enzo too (although, as you know, I am no longer a 1/18 collector). BTW, who make the 1/12 Porsche 911 (996) Turbo? How's the quality of that model? I never see it before.... Aaron
The 1/12 Turbo 996 is by Carrson, the quailty is not too good in yellow, I have saw a red one in my friends home, and it looks ok in exterior, since I can say it is a toy. For a good model collector would not buy this. The reason I got this is that I got a 1/12 Carrara GT Carrson 8 months earlier than the release of Tamiya Carrera GT. and I decided to get this too. Well, for personal comment, if you really love Porsche 996, you can buy this, but make sure it always place behind other detailed 1/12 model when you are taking pictures. There is no opening on the model. I got the yellow Turbo 996 with postage included for 130USD. The Carrson Carrera GT is just about 90USD. Mike
How's the quality of Carrson Carrera GT? Not as good as Tamiya? Is there opening on the Carrson Carrera GT model? Should I go with Tamiya and forget about Carrson? Aaron
That was guarantee that the quality is far lower than Tamiya, but there was a price difference... 600HKD vs 2500HKD. But it is still better than the 996 Turbo I suppose have chance to sell the Carrson Carrera GT before the release of Tamiya GT. But after I got the Tamiya Carrera GT, I definitely think that I made a correct decision. Since the rear spoiler and photoetch of the engine cover is quite easy to get damaged. So, for my collection, I have a closed top Carrson Carrera GT and a open-top Tamiya Carrera GT. No openings, the top is removable, but I never tried it, 4 wheels and roll... That's a budget issue, if you got enough $, go for Tamiya. if not, Carrson is not a bad idea
