Anybody know of a 365BB for sale in the US ? Willing to look at anything for sale that is in excellent condition with "reasonable" mileage, but preference to a mint condition drivers car. Car need not be exceptionally low mileage as I don't want to pay for a garage queen trophy winner with 1K miles on her. Please PM me (Stephen H. Frankel) at [email protected]. BTW I am a private all cash buyer if that matters. Thanks.

I thought about contacting Joe Sackey (whom I have never spoke to before), but it seems that his specialty are the so-called super cars such as the 288, F40, F50 and Enzo (unfortunately these vehicles are out of my league financially unless the prices drop below $500K). I don't think Mr. Sackey has a focus on the 365BB although I could be erroneous in my perception. I do believe that I will be compelled to ascertain when a 365BB is on the auction block at one of the big auctions and then bid on same. Luckily I have time. As a kid I always had a lithograph of the BB in my bedroom (I'm 49 now). It was the mid-70's so to tell you the truth I'm not sure if it was a 365 or 512 (pre-512i), but I think that it was a 365. Anyway, it was always my dream car and if I can find one for a decent price ($125K-$150K depending on condition) I can attain my dream and possibly also have a good very long term investment. I'm 100% certain that my recently acquired 2013 458 (while a good DD so far -its only been a couple of days) will depreciate slowly but be a very poor long term investment due to the high production #'s. Anyway, if anybody out there (including Joe Sackey) knows of a vehicle for me, I'd love to hear from you. I know getting a US version will lower my chances of getting the 365BB but I am willing to wait to get the correct properly maintained car. I won't spend $220K for a garage queen (as someone did not that long ago), but I would like a nice example that I can drive numerous times per year. Anybody ? Crickets.

Best of luck in your search.

Finding a 365BB for $125-150 in the US will be a challenge.

    Good day,

I am in agreement with what CarbBoxer mentioned, I think finding a "mint" 365BB in your price range will be really tough and in fact I suspect that their prices will actually start at your upper range...

    Cheers,

    Sam

I'm always up for a good challenge. I understand that there were 387 produced, but I wonder how many made it to the US and still exist. In any event, if I have to re-evaluate my price range I will. At this point, I don't see anybody out there looking to sell a proper car privately or via dealer. The thought of an auction for a purchase doesn't make me happy, but time will tell.

In my opinion isn't impossible find a 365BB in good condition; especially in US.
Unfortunately i'm of Europe, so i don't know who are or where are good seller ecc. in the US.
But for me, you could ask anyhow to him and then hear what he says...
    Look it: http://joesackey.com/to-acquire-or-sell/
At an auction you can buy, but must be a 365BB; thing not so easy...overall in good condition!
But, anyhow i can help give you some website for your research.

    classicdriver: http://www.classicdriver.com/uk/find/4100_results.asp?bsubmit=true&lmanufacturer=10042&whatbutton.x=0&page=0&lmodelflag=12248

    anamera: http://www.anamera.com/en/find/list/index.html?no_cache=1

Unfortunately, in US there aren't 365BB, but if you like also the 512BB, you have more possibility:

    classicdriver: http://www.classicdriver.com/uk/find/4100_results.asp?bsubmit=true&lmanufacturer=10042&whatbutton.x=0&page=0&lmodelflag=12256

    anamera: (carbs) http://www.anamera.com/en/find/list/index.html?no_cache=1

    anamera: (injection) http://www.anamera.com/en/find/list/index.html?no_cache=1

    I hope to be useful.

200 plus....there are many here just sitting, that would outbid your 125 ...and I would be one of them.

Good luck with your search for under 200.

Importing is possible. Your challenge will be a big one. You want a rare car. More money always helps. I would look worldwide.

    Best of luck, and welcome.

No such thing as a US version, only grey imports of Euro versions at the time - and in the past with some hideous DOT concessions, nowadays usually restored back to Euro version.

I had to do lots of learning when I bought my 365BB. Personally, I don't think there are a lot out there that really drive as they should do. It was only after I did the engine rebuild last November that I found out what these cars are supposed to REALLY do! A well-running 365 Boxer is an amazing thing of visceral beauty and aural overload. Truly WONDERFUL car!!

Mine is for sale, but it is RHD so I don't think you'd be interested.

I made a little video on how it runs these days - I think you should watch it. If only I had known what I know now....

You can get a very nice BB or BBi for $125-150, but it's only possible to get a beater 365 in that price range IMO.

There's nothing quite like the sound of a 365bb at speed. Thanks Onno!
