I'm chasing a rolling project '58 Elena (may be a running car now) that had a Chev V8 and Muncie 4spd, and was on the East Coast of the US at one time; possibly Baltimore? I believe that the car then moved out West to California, and the owner died, leaving the rolling project to be sold for the widow by a Porche guy in Utah.
There was also some Aluminum Boano parts with this project. That's all I know.

Anyone have any recollections, or clues on this? Especially the aluminum Boano goodies?

I know nothing about an Elena with a Chevy, but there was an alloy Boano that was crashed and rolled in the eastern USA and stripped of the damaged bodywork in the late 60's /early 70's. It was a complete running chassis (o603GT), engine and gearbox. Last I heard, it was a 58' TR rebody in England. Not sure when it was rebodied (mid 80's or early 90's?) or the path it took to get to the UK. Likely not much help.

Do you know the chassis number. A car as you are describing was restored into a 14 louver tdf

0603 GT was sold new to Alec E. Ulman in NY/USA.
Here's a pic of the poor rebody, taken 24 years ago.

At least three Boanos and Ellenas were used as donor cars for horrible 14-louver TDF replicas.

No chassis #s known at this point. Only some of the aluminum Boano parts remain from this saga, but Boano body parts are NOT numbered! Trying to put all the pieces back together from this puzzle. Please keep the comments, and hints coming! Many Thanks.

Hmm, an Elena indeed; high roof w/o wing windows, and Elena trunk lid and rear bumper. Those wheels are interesting, as is the lack of exhaust out the rear. Perhaps this is the V8 conversion car?
Please keep all these clues coming, I fully appreciate them all!

Thanks for this. Any clues as to which Boano & Elenas were butchered for these replicas? Any Aluminum Boanos? I wonder if it would more beneficial to chop up one of these fakes to restore the original car?

    Many Thanks, RF.

Absolutely all these fakes made from demolished Ferraris should be restored to their original condition. With money, anything is possible.

    Now "14-louver TDF's":
    0657 GT, 0827 GT, 0885 GT, etc.
