A friend is looking for a red 355 F1 Spider with low kms and has about $200K to spend. Does anyone know of such a car on the market? He would consider a manual, but prefers F1. SVM has a consignment '97 car in manual with about 10,000km - Rego of vehicle is AQG-96S - does anyone know anything about it?

    TIA

Thanks Dingo. I don't know if he's seen that one, but I'll certainly pass it on.

What is the common wisdom about F1 vs Manual on 355, BTW?

    red?

i couldn't even get to the dealer website for SVM. getting really tired of flash-based sites, they're like a special-effects movie, okay to see once, but not worth checking out again.

    F1-Man?

For some, the short throw between rails on a stick shift can be a little tricky at first... going from 2nd to 5th etc is common.... coming down in a hurry can be dangerous.

But if you master that quickly enough, the Manual is a peach. The F1 is quirky, can be really nice once you've got used to it, but it does need a different drive style to be adopted to get it to feel "right".

That said, AHG swears by his (very smooth pateint man!), others will tell you F1 is awful.

what about a GTS? personally i like targa cars... it retains more of the styling of an original coupe and you get the topless feel.
