Just ask a lot of questions about condition and service DATES. Entry price is low but I am sure you will be staring at a few immediate required fixes. At least it has been driven a lot. I personally like that about the car. If it were a Texas car I would at least go look at the car at this price.

He got his reserve - is that you bidding on it? I would have to get a PPI on that one and the auction timing just would not allow it. Also, seller (agent) feedback has a huge number of unresolved complaints. No way I would buy that off of eBay.

Nothing wrong with his rating, only 122 neg out of 10,000 is pretty darn good if you ask me. I would do business in a heartbeat.

As far as the price still has 5 days it will go well over 40K, The low researve is a great idea, gets more people excited about bidding on it, who wants to buy a car with only 0 or 1 bid, first thing you think is whats wrong with it, why only one bid. With his you see 20 bids makes people feel more comfortable to buy it.

That's my biggest qualm with buying an exotic car off eBay - your window for a PPI is short, and a 'buy it now' auction means that PPI money may be wasted anyway.

I researched the Car, dont know if it matters or not, so im going to post what I found on it. It's not a USA car from what I'm showing. Originally its from Montreal Canada, it was owned by "Holand Leasing" registered 3 times in canada, last time was showing 25,000 miles then sold to a Douglas Francis which was, registered in IL, USA.

Car fax shows a minor accident in 95 - in Florida. Car was actually originally titled in the US (Dallas, TX) and shows as a US car as far as I can tell. Owner not sure if A/C works although ad says all systems work. Window delaminating. No tool kit or manuals. Documentation holes known. Not sure what was done on the 30k three years ago. Owner owes a large sum of money to Ferrari dealership car is at now. Had clutch (dual disc...blah) redone and can not pay them. I was concerned about a possible mechanics lean. Car already has a loan on it. Owner made a misstatement about his "reserve" but could have easily been a mistake. Car failed emissions 5 times in a row over 3 years and just passed in April. "Used" Cats put on it.

If his deal falls through I will likely PPI the car at the dealer and make him an offer. I think it is worth his buy it now with what I know but would not touch it without a PPI. I told him I would not buy it via ebay. I was on the phone with him a bit on Tuesday. Saw the auction earlier that day.

Buy it now was 37,333 - should be fun to see if the bidders come out and stroke it up.

Opinions on negative feedback vary - they did not even reply to some - that tells me 'kiss my a--, you do not matter customer".

    -Mike

PS: Good news is the boss (wife) has given full green light on the next purchase regardless of if it is this one or not. No, she has no single sisters.

Man, if Carfax shows a crash, I'd really beware. I traded away two suburbans, 'in 01 and 04 both of which were the subject of knuckleheads wrecking into me..first one was $18k and insurance wouldn't total it. I checked both some time later and Carfax was clean...no wrecks, bodywork or anything. Makes you wonder what it would take to have a wreck register.

Why not just pay up whatever $k it takes and get a nice sorted out car with no stories?

    Good luck in any event..

The seats are from a spider aren't they? I don't think tb/ts had these seats and if they did it was after 92. Correct me if I am wrong.

The accident was <$500 repair. Florida is very specific on their reporting. One of the few good automotive things about Florida. Scratched bumper is my guess.

Seats look like every 92 I have looked at. Look like they have wear in line with the mileage on the car. This is a "there could be issues" car. No purchase without a PPI in this case. If the guy is being 100% up front (he told me it failed emmissions and why - Carfax only backed up his story).

For the other comment about pay the bucks...this car would cost me 45k to get it where I want it if I bought it. I would very much prefer to pay 45-50k for a no issues car but I was approaching this one at 35k with PPI and a personal inspection before purchasing attitude. That is a hard deal to pass on if the story on the car is genuine and backed up by a Ferrari dealer PPI with compression/leakdown.

Note - since I requested a compression/leak down and stipulated I was not buying the car without one I have had no return emails.

    Next please.

Seems like a car with some issues. You may get it cheap, but I don't think it would be cheap to sort it all out.

Seats look standard 348. Alot of wear though. Wonder about other components (tires, shacks, bushings).

There is a nice '92 348 SS tb at local Bentley dealer. Asking $54 K I think. Only something like 12 or 13,000 miles. They may be willing to deal since it's winter up here. It's red though.

And I agree - I am thinking 5-7k into the car within 1 year to make it sorted. Top value would be 43k due to lack of tools and full docs.

Tires are brand new by the way.

Whats that button to the right of the shifter?? That big round knob thing?

I think the color will keep the price low. Ive said it before (and I love white cars) the white 348 is just missing that OOMPH! that i look for in a Ferrari.

Doesnt look like a cd changer control. Looks too big to be an alarm control or valet switch.

Id ask the owner what the heck that thing is wired into. I hate people that drill into Exotic car dashes and consoles. It aint a Dodge! Its a ****** EXOTIC CAR!!! I think that stuff is a total turn off.

My wife says im an anal retentive (you know what) about certain things.

Well, that panel has to go anyway...along with the air vents. Car had the stickies but owner cleaned it all out. you can see it is kind of rough looking. That is why I did not ask. Already had replacement budgeted in (done by self)

The knob is a built in radar detector most likely a K40.

Yes I noticed that too. I actually like those seats better than the ones in my early 91 model TB. I've looked into this for awhile and it seems to be some models in the late 1991 that got them. It is almost like the pad that you sit on is somewhat separate from the side bolsters. Like a 355 or as you say a 348 spider.

I still think my seats are in good condition as well for a 89 348ts. May not be as plush and the newer seats, but still looks pretty good too if you ask me. It may be a 89 but I paid allot less than the 50k mark. The seats in the white 92 do look rough but could be made right again, if you took it to the right detailer, I think? I would have to look at that car before I would buy it and have a Ferrari Tech, check it out. But hey $37k and you are driving a 92 348ts not to bad, only if a Ferrari Tech gave it his blessing! Just my thought.
