Well, I dropped off my car at the painter's and upon returning home, I noticed on the garage floor a small puddle of brake fluid. So I immediately called the shop to inform them of this. And they replied, "we couldn't push your car into the shop. The brakes have seized."

Well that explains why I had such a hard time just pushing the car in my garage. I thought I just needed to up my workouts. But it looks like a brake rebuild is in order. This will probably address my earlier comments on the lack of feel in the brakes. And the pulling from speed.

And the shop mentioned that the shocks feel like they've gone. So maybe a new set of shocks. Anyone know of any upgrades like the QA1's on the 308s that I might try?

I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Once the brakes and the shocks have been addressed, then I'll finally be enjoying the car the way I want to enjoy her.

May as well do springs, bushings etc, if you're gonna go do the shocks. Only adds a few bucks to the cost, and you'll feel the difference.

Superperformance can hook you up with everything you need to completely overhaul the suspension, including uprated springs.

I'd stick to the Koni's on the shocks. That's where I'm headed on this, and it's what the Ferrari guys recommended.

You don't want to take all of the playt out of the suspension. Dino's are pretty good handling cars, they don't need to ride like a truck.

More later, I'm getting booted off the computer.

I hate to say it, but I have to:
If you didn't even notice that your car had seized brakes, what makes you think you're going to appreciate a shock absorber change?

I'd recommend that you restore everything to stock specification and enjoy the car as Enzo intended. Spend a while with it in top form before you try "improving" on the original design.

I can see your point. But it's been 3 years since I've driven the car. I just thought I wasn't used to the clutch, or the throttle. When I start from a stop, I noticed that I had to give her a bit of gas. But it's been so long, I didn't remember if that was normal or not. And I knew the brakes felt odd but the shop didn't have an opening until now. I never knew that brakes can seize.

As for the shocks, I drove a couple of other Dinos before I bought mine. And my recollection of each of the drives was that the car rolled more than I liked. Now maybe those cars also needed some shock work. I don't know. I agree with you. I wish I could feel what a pristine stock setup feels like. But after reading alot of road tests and hearing feedback on this site, I still feel that I would like a tighter ride.

Anyways, like I said, I'll be happy once the brakes and the shocks are sorted whether it's to stock specs or upgraded.
