I've got a 2002 spider that I bought new and "worst gearbox every" is quite a bit of an exaggeration. I really like this car and for a true italian machine to knock around in, it's a bargin.

As long as the car had it's 2003 software updates (and I'm sure the dealer did this), the car shifts fine as long as you don't bother with AUTO mode (which, is pretty poor for sure).

Mine has been reliable since the initial break in. In the past 5 years all I've done is to replace the battery, the two front tires, and do the 18 K service (which costed about $1400).

I have had problems with brake squeel and I've heard others report something similar. But, the car starts, runs like a champ, and have never broken down or had a major incident. It's comfortable to ride in and use as a daily driver. The engine is bullet proof and the best part of the car with the interior being next. Since I've owned it, it's never leaked a drop of fluid.

Later year models did have upgraded interiors with different materials and options. But I heard this from two different dealers: the 2002 was the fastest of all the Cambiocorsa's (not withstanding the Gransport). Apparently, the software mapping of the 2002 engine was different (at least, that's what I've been told).

Fuel economy is poor. I would say 14 in the city and maybe 20-22 on the open road (depending on how you drive). The GPS is basically a show piece (too difficult to program) and the radio operation can be awkward to use. Climate control is excellent. Skyhook suspension and Xexon headlights are definately options that I would want (I have them). The trunk is a bit on the small side (even in the coupes).

But, for the price of a Prius, you can blast away from them in italian style. Isn't that a bargain?

I am looking at a 2002 CC with close to 40K miles on it. The dealer is getting back to me on whether or not the software was updated. What would be a fair price? Black on black (not first choice on interior)

If i were buying this car brand new, what would come with it (ie how many keys/books/car covers/etc)

Look like a nice car. The GS wheels are a nice upgrade. Just get FoD to reflash the CC computer with the 2004 software and you should be set.

I love my Maserati. Great car for the money.

Your friend absolutely stole that car.

i sold my 7k mile 04 black black (probably the best for resale) for 60k last october. I would buy an 04 for 30k all day long! seriously... if anyone finds a great car with good service and perfect paint work (i.e. none) i am a buyer

I have had 3 offers on my 04 coupe of $34k. I accepted all 3 and all 3 bailed before ever looking at the car. The best trade in offer I had was $25.5k. The car is fully serviced but will most likely need a cluch in the next year. If I end having to do the clutch I am going to keep the car and buy a beater to drive.

I'm the one who bought the Black 04 for 30k with 14k miles. Not only was the paint perfect, but both sets of wheels had new tires, and the 1 owner had every service record from the day he bought the car. He also lived right across from a Ferrari/Maserati dealer that sold the car to him, and they knew the car very well. It also had the new OEM exhaust along with the extra wheels, since that was changed before he took delivery. This car has every option as well, even the CF steering wheel which is a very rare option.

I was one of the 34K offers since I really like blue cars. But that was before I knew about the dent in the front of the car that will require a repaint of the front end and maybe a new body panel. Thats more than I wanted to deal with and I'm sure the others felt the same way. You need to have that fixed, or just keep it. It's very hard to match blue paint.

I just sold my 2006 Maserati Gransport Bianco Fuji (Pearl White) color which is the best looking and rarest color with an msrp of 125 every option for $59.5. The car only had 2,700 miles. The market is the market.

Great that it sold. But if you own one, bad about the price.

Yep it sold pretty quick. The sickness I have now has me searching for a 360 or Lambo Gallardo since they have fallen like a rock as well!

sure its along way off MSRP... most people didn't pay near MSRP for the cars to begin with. But honestly you getting 59.5 is strong money. You did a great job selling it.
