Hi all, I read that one must get approval from the Ferrari head office prior to selling a Ferrari. Any truth to that ? Seems very strict if true.

Yes, as well as each time I take my wife to bed. No exceptions or there is a severe punishment.

and no, your info is very much inaccurate. There are certain exceptions with very special models, like what Ford did with the GT, where the buyer agrees not to flip the car in a certain time period.

Another Ferrari B** ****e urban myth. Don't listen to what non owners say about Ferrari. Come here where owners will tell you the truth about ownership. And also don't pay attention to youtubers moaning about how bad their Ferrari ownership experience was and that they are selling because of their experience urging you not to buy a Ferrari. If Ferraris where so bad why is that many owners have owned one for 20 plus years.

Yes, it's true. I applied to the Ferrari head office to sell my 612. The request was denied, they said I have to keep it.

So now I have to drive the damn car all the time, oh the humanity. :D

Only in certain circumstances do they have any say. They have some “requirements” not to sell for a predetermined amount of time for some new or limited models but really all they can do is blacklist you from buying a new car from them. Nothing legally unless they can prove some type of trademark infringement, and they've done that several times. If you buy a car used, they have no say whatsoever. People flip Ferraris all the time from Facebook to Craigslist to Ebay.

When he's not driving his FF! [emoji6]

I had to get permission from a higher authority than Ferrari Spa to buy my Ferrari, my wife!

I think on some special editions, some owners have to sign "right of first refusal" agreements. In order to prevent flipping.

OP...what the previous poster said, F-chat is the place to get the real lowdown on F ownership experience, both good and bad.

True, but as previously mentioned people do it and the end result is they just can't buy new Ferrari's anymore. The agreement people sign isn't really legally enforceable. Once you pay for goods, those goods are yours to do what you please.
