It will be a sad day guys, but I need to sell the 328 in order to move my plans forward. It is listed here (FChat)

    http://www.ferrarichat.com/ferrariads/showproduct.php?product=53&limit=recent

    and on eBay.

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=004&sspagename=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT&viewitem=&item=140144890183&rd=1

    Nat,

You know that I have my eye on your car right ? It's about time for you to get into a 430 now - isnt it ? We could both be in different cars in time for the Fall cruise...

With All due respect. You should put some information about the damage on your car and the receipts for the service you say was performed in 05. I notice that the car has been crinkled on the Front hood. Maybe start off with some honesty and take pics of the leather bolster on the drivers side as well. Your car in its current condition IMO is worth 35,000 tops unless you redeam yourself.. JJ

What did I do to upset you ?

My car is not a 7,000 mile garage queen like yours ? Congratulations, you win.

... and I am very forth coming with chips, paint touch ups and leather scuffs, etc..

Not trying to be a jerk. I just think if your going to list your car on ebay and fchat you should own up to the obvious vaults of the car if your serious about selling...

Any responsible buyer would get a PPI done before purchase anyway.

and what do you want him to do, list all of the faults in the opening paragraph in 30 font, bold, and underlined? He's trying to sell the car for goodness sake. I am sure he's not out to screw anyone over. Even if you are just trying to help, you come of very abrasive and confrontational. You need to be more tactful next time, especially when pointing out flaws in his pride and joy.

    Pride and Joy is right.

It took me a lifetime to obtain the car, Ive treated her well, she has been well kept up .... but is not at all a mint garage queen.

I present as much as possible to a buyer. Today, I sent many new photos to 2 different people. We have a PPI on Wednesday.

I really regret creating this thread. Good luck to all you Ferrari owners - now, sooner,or later

If you look at the pic of the front of the car. Just to the your left of the head light cover you can see where at some point someone tried to close the front hood too hard. This is a flaw in the Ferrari design later corrected. Your pictures are high resolution but limited. Cant see contitions of the fog lights. Cant see the scuff on the drivers seat you mention. No details on service. Im not upset. I am busting your balls because if you cant take it from me how are you going to take it from someone else that is interested in dropping 45 large on a 22 year old italian car. This is the market they are getting smarter. Im actually trying to help. I looked at more than 10 cars before buying mine. I almost went to see the one pictured below because the owner said he had the bumper repainted because it melted. Then I asked for pictures and he sends me this. I had to explain to him that his 89 was not worth 60,000 dollars even though it had 9,000 miles on it. I told him his car was worthless because it had been in a fire. Maybe im also being hard on you because im tired of people selling crappy/or poorly presented Ferraris. If you really want 49,000 go get the hood fixed, Have some leather conditioning done, Publish pics of the maintence and update the photos. Take as much pride in your add as you did in your car...

Wow, what are you trying to accomplish here? Have you seen Jeff's car in person? Do you have personal history with this car? I've seen the car in person and I can tell you that it is beautiful. I don't understand your intention of posting something like this. If you are interested in buying it, deal with Jeff directly. You seem to be basing your assemssment on pictures alone?

Thanks for the support guys. That got me pretty frustrated ... I'm having a difficult enough time with the idea of parting with my car.

    +1 - those guys rock.

I'd keep it. I know more than one person who went from a 328 to a 355 and then back to a 328. IMO, the 328 is the better car.

    But, strictly my opinion.

But I have a lot of posts.

I would include a driver's bolster photo. The hood kink is very common, and easily fixable, and shows in your pics, but bolster wear is something that ought to be shown, because it is the most obvious wear point on Ferraris (due to the crap original leather, unfortunately).

And $35K is very low if it's in great mechanical condition. 26K miles is low lower on a 328 at this point, and is actually something of a sweet spot that shows the car has been reliable and hasn't just been sitting around for 21 years.

If I had to estimate, $45K is closer to private seller price, maybe low $50Ks if a dealer had it listed.

A lot of posts and politeness, wow.

Thanks (mostly) for all the input. I have included a pic of the bolster.

I think 45K is a very fair price for this car and is generating interest. Although the leather has some wear, I bet a person with the right skill set could restore it nicely.

Mechanically, the car has been very good to me. I budgeted for repairs after the major and they were never needed. I figure this is a great car for somebody wanting to experience a Ferrari - I know it has been to me.

I also figured I would switch to a F355 if it made sense. At 35K - 40K it doesnt. I will keep the car and enjoy the hell out of it.

Constructive criticism is appreciated - I want to be as honest as possible with my ad .. but I felt insulted.
