I have a couple offers on my car; one is from dealer and the other from a private party. Dealer offer is less than private buyer, but I can’t help thinking there is some value (Connecticut taxes, ease of transaction, etc.) in working with the dealer. Further, goal is to turn around and get another car (360 spider or Cali).

Any dealers/frequent buyers out there that can shed some light on how to quantify the benefits (if any) of working with a (non-exotic car) dealer?

If you are not trading in your car to a dealer for another car there is no sales tax advantage. Sell privately. Get bank check in payment and give seller tittle and filled out CT bill of sale form H31. The rest is his to deal with. He will also need to fill out an application for registration and tittle, Ct form H-13b.
