    My thoughts are either a 599 or 612. I know they are substantially different in many ways, but has anyone here move from a 550 to one of these? Would be interested in any thoughts
    here and will post in other forum. any particular issues unique to these vehicles? Thanks.

    I dont have a 599 - I've driven them alot and think its a spectacular car. love it all except the round ac vents inside.

    I found the 612 more involving than the 599. Nice Balance between the engagement you have in your 550 and the sophistication of today's cars. (+ 2 seats) 612 not especially fast, 599 very fast, fantastic engine, very slick, objectively brilliant, but for me unengaging, not fun, unless you were wringing its neck which difficult unless you own a track. Very different to drive to 550.

    I am not too keen on the aesthetics of both 612 and 599. They are modern Ferraris. Easy to live with, the (normal) wife can drive it and compared to the 550s lots of noise. I am not sure how your 550 is, but here in Europe, provided 550s prices keep rising and 599s decreasing, I would say that in less than one year, it'd be possible to trade 1:1 a 550 for a 599.

    Quite honestly… I would rather go for a 458, which is a lot of fun (if you do not mind the 4 missing cylinders)

    I love the look of both the 599 and the 612, though you are talking about 2 very different cars and 2 very different price points of course. Also they are both V12's as opposed to a V8 and were made in smaller lots. Check out this beautiful black 612's interior, it oozes class:
