    Hi Guys,

I'm selling my Porsche Cayman S and have been approached by all kinds of people from my Autotrader ad. This one however takes the cake. I just don't know where to begin so I thought I'd post it as an entertaining read. Enjoy:

Hey, I saw your advertisement for the Porsche Cayman S and I honestly think for the price and mileage you're selling at is a very good deal. However I know this is a private sale and I just want to somewhat open myself as a potential client if you may call so. I am a 19 year old male living in Mississauga who has had a dream to one day own the Cayman. The issue is that I live by myself, I work full time and at the same time I have to save enough money for post-secondary education. For me personally, my education comes first, not a beautiful car like your Cayman. However, I was engaged to my highschool sweetheart for a little over a year when tragedy struck. She was involved in a car accident due to the opposing driver who was speeding at the time. It was an insist death. Even till now, my grief and depression has not gone away and I was told by professionals to seek an alternative to my grief. The thing was that ever since getting my license when I was 16 years old, I always had a taste bud for driving. The reason I live alone is after my fiancée's death, I couldn't bare living at home since I felt so secluded and I decided to move out. Throughout highschool I worked at nights and barely had enough strength to go to school, but I managed and successfully began university. Even now, I still had not found my alternative until one Saturday I went to the Porsche dealership in Toronto and saw the Cayman in person and all I can say is: relief. I felt a sudden relief like someone removed one- hundred pounds of sand off my shoulders. The Cayman was honestly the key to what I needed. I spent the rest of the day leisurely looking at other vehicles, but to be quite frank with you, the Cayman was the one. I don't know if you've personally experienced the loss of someone so close to you, but with myself, I am very emotional and it struck me to my heart and beyond. This wasn't just someone passing away, this was the same someone who I went and shared so many memories with including a marriage proposal. I still to this day keep her ring as a sign of my love for her. Now, you're probably wondering, "okay I am sorry to hear about your loss, but what do you want me to do for you?" Let me first off tell you, this isn't some scheme, scam or fraud. I am 100% legit and I want to meet you if you even give me a chance for some coffee or what not. I am just a simple young adult who needs the keys to happiness so I can start being who I used to before. I've tried so many other methods of alternatively finding my rejoice, but I couldn't. During my time in highschool, I worked extra hard to push myself for the most, and in return I was granted a few Ontario scholarships which covered my undergraduate years in university. However, I still deal with the monthly expense of rent, food, electricity and other necessities. I am not asking you for money or any of that, but I am asking you for something you have which would provide another person the rejoice in life he's been ripped away of. To be honest, I've currently been working with a new job which unfortunately is affecting my schoolwork but the reason is so I can save enough to purchase a Porsche Cayman heck even if it's used I don't care but I can't work anymore because like I said, my education is my number one goal. Now, here' the thing, I only have about $1500 saved right now and I can work another week or two extra hard during Christmas and make another $500, so that brings me to $2000 which is still nothing close to what you want, but sir/ma'am please just understand one thing, and that is money can't buy happiness, and I'm sure you've heard that before. That is why I have come to a conclusion in regards to your car. If you agree to even let me purchase it for $2000, I am going to advertise slogans onto the car itself (professionally) of companies who practice safe driving and are against speeding. I want to drive this car around and let people know why I have those advertisements and slogans; because my fiancée was killed in an accident that caused it and I want to prove to young people that they can also avoid such unwanted and unfortunate deaths by practicing safe driving skills. I would pay the insurance and gas costs with the paid companies I would advertise for in regards to maintenance of the vehicle. I know my words are not much, but with a car like the Cayman it does make a difference driving into populated areas, and I do want to add an advertisement stating your name as a donor of the vehicle. This is my plan but only you can help me make it reality. I hope you do reply to me and possibly could include your number so we can speak on the phone. I live in Mississauga and currently I can meet you in the GTA if you'd like. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Regard, Sameer.

    Dear Sameer,

I am pained by your grief and believe you would be doing a great public service by advocating safe driving, therefore I have decided to sell you my car. I believe with you as the primary spokesman/driver of the vehicle and the image of the car with the professional signage you've mentioned will undoubtedly be of benefit to our community and raise driver awareness. $2000.00 is fine and I don't require an advertisement as donor as I already have signage affixed. Call me whenever you are available to meet to complete the transaction.

    PS;

I believe you'll be quite pleased to know the vehicle in question I've decided to sell will suit your purposes infinitely better than any Cayman and before you wish to thank me, let me say you are quite welcome in advance.

    I don't agree.

The last 10 generations which have recent history; IE dating back from 1800's up until 2009 have had great success thru hard work, dedication, family etc.

This new generation is all about Pop culture, and stupid gadgets. The kids growing up into University have an education of Grade 8....just ask any professor or teacher these days.

Every kid has big dreams and ideas when it comes to money....but they have no f'kn clue how to get it done, they think someone else has to do the hard work instead of them. Its a very WRONG attitude....My Grandparents, parents, and my generation all work hard and won't turn a blind eye to extra work in order to get ahead.

I've had dozens of young students (apprentices) come by my shop looking for a job, and 99% of them will quit or give up after 1 month because the work gets tough. Either they want $30 an hour at 18 yrs old, or they want a decent wage but have 0 responsiblities.

.........Such as this stupid kid who replied to the Porsche Ad. ---> A new Porsche with 0 down payment, and 0 responsbilities, "just give me the car and I'll worry about paying it with ads and sponsors". Another example of failure: Trying to achieve "the dream of Porsche ownership" without really working for it! :(

OMG, I just can't stop crying since I've read this incredible yet sincere story!

I would answer him something like this:

    Dear Sameer,

I am so happy to find you because you are the only person I think who could make my miserable life better. Long story short, a few years ago I got screwed by a SOB to whom I gave for free one of my previous exotic sporstcar because he lost his girfriend and the guy was on the verge of kill himself by desesperation and he told me that the only way to save him was to accept a ridicuous amount of money like 2000$.

Unfortunately, Later I discovered that this guy was only a little ***** with the nly ambition in life to get other's people jewels for virtually nothing,

so Sameer, now I have to find a guy ( preferably like him ) who would consent to give me back for free the amount of money I've lost to the SOB.

PLeeeeeaaaassee, SSSSSaaaaaaaaameeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrr, ( crying ) can you give me 100 000$, I know you can understand what I feel ....

Nuvolari, you should invite this guy for a Dîner de cons with a few friends! :)

    Pretty entertaining indeed!

Will you be paying for and picking it up in person?

    - His reply:

Subject: Re: I will buy your car. At your given price
    To:
    Received: Monday, September 28, 2009, 2:44 AM

    Hello Good Day

    How are you today?

Thanks for the details and information about your car. History...It seem you are a sincere person. I want to inform you that I will buy your car. At your given price. $ 19,900.00

But I have a business proposal for you. I am a captain with the United Nations troop in Iraq , on war against terrorism..

Based on the United States legislative and executive decision for withdrawing troops from Iraq come next year, I have been deployed to come and work in your country's military base soonest. Our mission is to help beef up terrorist targeted states, mostly the United States and the United Nations Union on the war against terrorism.

I will need a car. For myself and that is why i contacted you. On the other hand I want to inform you that I have in my possession the sum of 26.8 million USD. Which I got from crude oil deal here in Iraq .

I deposited this money with a Red Cross agent informing him that we are making contact for the real owner of the money. It is under my power to approve whoever comes forth for this money. I want to invest the money in your country as soon as I am deployed into your country for a good business, anyway you will advice me on that since I am not a business person.

I cannot move this money to the United States because I will be in Canada for about 3years, so I need someone I could trust. If you accept,

I will transfer the money to Canada where you will be the beneficiary because I am a uniformed person and I cannot be parading such an amount so I need to present someone as the beneficiary.

I am an American and an intelligence officer for that so I have a 100% authentic means of transferring the money through diplomatic courier service .I just need your acceptance and all is done. Please if you are interested in this transaction I will give to you the complete details you need for us to carry out this transaction successfully. I decided to find someone that is real and not imaginary and that is why I went to a secured car. Site where I can be sure that the person is real.

I believe I can trust you. Where we are now we can only communicate through our military communication facilities which are secured so nobody can monitor our emails, then I can explain in details to you. I will only reach you through email, because our calls might be monitored, I just have to be sure whom I am dealing with

If you are interested please send me your personal mobile number so I can call you for further enquiries when I am out of our military network. I am writing from a fresh email account so if you are not interested do not reply to this email and please delete this message, if no response after 3days I will then search for someone else.

I wait your contact details so we can go on. In less than 5days the money should have been noted on your account and I will come over for my money. I will give you 30% of the money. And 70% is for me. I hope I am been fair on this deal. Get back to me with your full information

    1. Your Full name..........
    2. Your state of residence and origin in your country
    3. A copy of your international passport /driver's license
    4. Your direct telephone number

    Regards,
    Capt David Jones

    - My next question:

Which base will you be stationed at when you arrive?

    - His last email (sent with pictures of his "family" and Military ID):

    Hello,

How are you and your family?

Thanks for your email and your assurance to do this deal with me. Honestly, I am very happy to do this business with a trust and honest person like you. However I inform you that the money has been packaged already in a consignment box and i have already deposited the consignment with a Red Cross however, our Red Cross officer will hand over the consignment box to the diplomat in London i have concluded and both the Red Cross officers and the diplomat do not know the contents of the consignment box because I just registered the consignment as personal belonging I will give them your name as the rightful owner and I will told them that it’s your personal effects. Note that I am the only one that has the key numbers to open the box, which I will give to you only when you have the box.

I got a contact of a diplomat in London who can handle the delivery from London to Your country. I am a married man with two kids and I love my family too much so I can not involve myself with anything that will put my family into trouble.

Please be rest assured that everything is 100% ok, and I have conclude arrangement with a Diplomat In London who will help me receive the box and bring it to your Address or which ever place you will prefer in Canada..

I have attach my passport photo and that of my family, to prove to you that everything I have told you is real, and if there will be any problem of any kind, I will not use my family picture to do it. Please make sure you open the attachments and do not show it to anybody.

You will be ready to fly down to London to pick up the consignment box from the diplomat or rather the diplomat will fly down to your country to deliver the box to your address in your country. I have discussed that with the diplomat in London and he is ready to carry out the delivery to you as you wish. Therefore you are to contact him directly to discuss with him on how he will handover the consignment to you. I will get back to you again with his full contact information where you can contact him directly.

As we agreed, you are entitled to take away only 30% of the total fund and from my share of 70%, you are to take the selling prize of your car as agreed and refund yourself the expenses you may incur during the process of delivery by the diplomat. So you have absolutely nothing to lose in this transaction, rather to gain. Please do not take this deal as a joke or for granted, I cannot deceive at my Age because I have my family that I care for and my future intention to go for Senate. So we need this money so that we can better their lives and family. Only God sees and knows my intention toward this transaction and he will reward accordingly if I even deceive you.

Please I want to do this deal with you only, Therefore you MUST keep it to yourself.

Here is the description of the box,

    Description of the box

    Weight 155 kg

    Length: 104cm

    Height: 75cm

    Breathe: 104cm

    Color: Black

I will give you the code number to open the box as soon as you receive it from the Diplomat. I will also seal the box with your full Name and Address for dispatch immediately, as soon as I hear from you. I am waiting for your full name and address so that I can seal the box and dispatch it immediately.

    1. Your Full name:

    2. Your country name:

    3. Your state of residence and address:

    4. A copy of your international passport /driver's license/ ID:

    5. Your direct telephone numbers:

Having sold quite a few things on Craigslist Kijiji and ebay I wish I could say it was a surprise. After the initial 'how rediculous!' thoughts, like you I found it quite entertaining to see the number of dreamers and their stories.
Anyone else find what seems like an aweful lot of the private sale ads in the Autotrader highly questionable?

yes theres tons of them on autotrader especially in the states, if you're looking for something and you see someone selling it way way less then market retail then they're trying to scam you.
The thing is EVERY single one has the same story, about how they moved out of the country and the cars in storage and the car will be delivered to my door with the title as soon as I send the money and I have to send it right away as they are in a big rush hence the low price bla bla bla, the sad thing is they must be working otherwise they wouldn't keep doing it!
