Sen. Kennedy has brain tumor.....

Ted has had that tumor for decades, but no one ever realized it! Usually though, it was quite obvious that something was wrong whenever he spoke.

I guess the booze finally killed enough brain cells, and the tumor was able to take over.

 

Why do you Americans hate this kennedy guy? I know about his brothers, and the one that died in the plane crash. Always heard that the family was cursed

 

He is aways been known to be a heavy drinker and I would say the the biggest problem most have with him is that he left the scene of an accident and his passenger Mary Jo Kopechne drowned.

One brother was a President struck down in the prime of his life, the last killed in office and the first to have his assassination recorded in living color. Another brother was well on his way to his party's nomination when he too was assissinated. The Kennedy family is probably the closest thing to royalty in the US, and there has been some tragedy in their family. JFK Jr. was killed in a plane crash, but had no business flying where and more importantly when he did. His own arrogance killed him.

If I could speak for the haters, Ted is seen as the bottom of the barrel in the Kennedy family. He was elected to the Senate after JFK was elected President, vacating the spot two years earlier. Teddy is seen as just mooching off the family name and his brothers' revered reputation. In a strange way their deaths probably helped him, he was the last male of his generation in politics and made his support in their home state of Massachusetts unassailable. He couldn't be the idiot brother because there weren't any other brothers to compare him to after RFK was killed in 1968.

There have been questions over Kopechne's death from the start. Many believe that a drunken Ted accidentally drove off the bridge and left her to die (IIRC she suffocated nearly an hour later in an air pocket of the floorboard). Her death was tragic, his actions were reprehensible. Even though rather lame explanations were given, the matter eventually went away. Many feel that if were anyone else, they would have been in jail. A few year later he even had the gonads to run for President himself.

My dislike for him is based on all these things above, as well as his politics. However, there are other devoted liberals that do not push my buttons like he does. There is something about his shameless demeanor and his contempt for opposing views that gets me going the most.

After he dies there will be tributes and words of sympathy from politicians on both sides. Five years later most people will have forgotten him.
