I saw the movie last week in Boston.

    Great movie.

And Senna *was* an ******. An arrogant, conceited, self-centered ******.

    as a driver

As a man, I think he was completely the opposite. Caring and kind, emotional, easily hurt, probably insecure in many ways and the kind of guy who wore his heart on his sleeve.

The movie was great, very well done.

Sounds like it is a place and time where us men who tear up will be forgiven and consoled. Hopefully it will eventually come to Houston but I will buy the dvd and put it in a stash box along with my recording of the '94 Imola race. I have not watched that race in about 15yr's as it is just too emotional for me.

The cinema's should hold a 15min session in the theater so everyone in the audience can share their story's kinda like a private counseling session.

I'm a tad sad now but I have mostly gotten over the sorrow and when I think of Senna now I rejoice in the fact that I was lucky enough to have followed his entire F1 career and have his entire career on tape.

    Good write and perspective thanks.

Senna was a man who was driven to be at the top of the mountain. You don't get there with flowers and smiles. He presented his public figure as an arrogant, self absorbed, ego maniacal man who would not let anything stand in his way of what he wanted to achieve. Just like any person who excels to the top of their profession. His personality may have rubbed some fans and competitors the wrong way, but when you really think about, how many drivers are remembered with the reverance and admiration that is bestowed upon him. He was a hero to some, he was a legend to many and on the track, he was feared by all. He is missed and will always be remembered. I look forward to seeing the movie and reliving it all.

    "All?"

    Alain Prost didn't fear him.

He may have worried that Aryton would collide with him ... again ... but fear?

    No way.

Alain admired Ayrton, considered him a great driver, but he never feared him.

    Class tells.

While we did not hang out together, I am probably one of the few (here) that have actually engaged in decent conversation with him on more than one occasion, and he was always nice to me.
