Ok, just ordered the full Traqmate GPS-based data logging system and full input part. My questions are:

Ground is common so no need to drag that off each of the car's tach, speedo, OP, OT, WT.

Am not sure about if i need to use a (suggest for some things) 470 Ohm resistor or can i just grab (split wire) the analog positive electrical signal straight off each gauge of the 1985 308GTS's dash and hook them to the Traqmate's input?

Please see below PDF for detailed instruction from Traqmate. Many thanks as ALL help is ALWAYS appreciated.

Called Traqmate and it seems i can just split off the signal (positive) wire from the gauge and feed it to the unit. Now comes the easy questions/verification:

    All are 12V 3 W gauges.

OP is wire color BLACK (HN in book)

Oil temp is BROWN (M in book)

Water temp is GREY (H in book)

Anyone know exactly what color wire is the positive for the tach? The electrical diagram is a bit confusing here. Looks like it might be red stripped black (RN in book).

Also, what is the min Volt (and temp or pressure) and max Volt (and temp or pressure) for the gauges so i can enter the parameters into the software? In other words 1V being XX Celsius and 12V being XXX Celsius

If you don't know, do you know a repair place or someone who does know?

    MANY thanks.

Posting this in case some poor soul follows in my footsteps and needs the data. Wire color is correct. The tach wire color AFTER THE CAR'S WHITE MOLEX connector (not gauge) is brown striped black (the second wire over).

NOTE: The wire color from the tach gauge itself is DIFFERENT than the wire color on the car's harness after the gauges molex.

Set Traqmate to 4 cyl mode and reading is spot on.

Have still not figured out the Volts to gauge reading. Can anyone help with those?
