Just a thought. There seem to be as many Dino threads as everythng else put together.

I don't think we need our own forum, but it sure would be fun for a while.

    There's lot's of Dino-chat because.....

    we Dinophiles are verbose.

And, in the land of Vintage, where most cars were made at most in the hundreds, there were several thousand Dinos made.

    And, we're verbose.

Did I mention our natural desire to chat, to excess, about the cars we love?

I guess those are two good reasons to have a seperate section devoted to Dinos, might even encourage more conversation. Best, Yale

I don't think its good. In my opinion the amount of forums available all ready take up most of my day for me to read the new threads. Another forum and I will be clicking and reading f-chat all day. Is that a bad thing? :)

hell, i like dino's in the vintage section. why would we want to exclude ourselves from the "vintage" section? it seems dino's have long since fought their ways into ferrari history. why would they exclude themselves now?

by the way, i bought my fourth dino today.

Stick with the Ferraris. We started the mid-engine, all independent, fantastic handling Ferrari line. Looks pretty good too. There are enough forums; more than enough. Let's leave real good alone.

I agree that a Dino 206/246 (GT and GTS) subforum within Vintage would be a good idea and have asked Rob to create it. If he does, please allow a few days for me to move as much of the previous Dino discussions into the new subforum as I can.

All discussion on the earlier competition Dinos, though, should be posted in the regular Vintage forum.

hmm, seems to me the discussion was leaning towards leaving it alone right here in Vintage.

Especially leave it alone if you want us to talk one type of Dino here and another type of Dino there, that will get confusing and I can see people posting in both sections just to make sure everyone sees it.

We have our own chat room for FIAT Dino's and those are FIAT Dino parts you are showing not Ferrari Dino.

There are several FIAT Dino owners here but people in general come here to talk Ferrari Dino, take a look at my profile.

Aloha.Im new to this site...leave the forum as it is...if you add another one I'd have to check both forums to make sure I didn't miss something that someone put out there...

also info on other cars often cross references the Dinos/////

if it ain't broke don't try and fix it........gregg blue

Well FerrariChat.com has it under the Ferrari only section, that's how we feel about it, others have other opinions. Dino's are well respected on FerrariChat.com and produce much activity, thus the need for a specific Dino forum under Vintage.

I'll never forget the day I watched Monteverdi chase down a BB/LM and a 512 M in his 206 SP... It was like watching a rabid chihuahua run down two scared dobermans... The Dino is, at the very least, a real Ferrari... Congratulations on the new section...

I disagree with the need, the discussion sure seemed to be going away from the need and seemed to imply we wanted kept the way it was. Its silly, so much of the information works on all Vintage that we interested ones will have to read both forums as if we dont spend enough time here already during our waking hours.

Anyway, guess its too late its done...I will say no more on this so I won't get banned for disagreeing with the powers that be.

The fact is that we have a (rapidly) growing number of 206/246 owners/enthusiasts and that these cars really do deserve their own subforum. If we had waited until this fact became overwhelmingly obvious, it would have been impossible to separate out all of the prior Dino threads.

As for being confused on which Dino models are posted where, we've already had a divsion (308 GT4s in "Classic," Fiats in "Other Italian" and all others in "Vintage") and it has never caused a problem in the past. The only thing we're doing here is creating a subforum within the Vintage section for 206/246 GT/GTS models. Early competition "Dinos" have little to do with buying, owning and maintaining the mid-engined road cars and I doubt there will be any confusion between the two.

So why not make it a top-level forum? With 3900+ examples out there, it would seem to make sense - that's a boatload of cars by Ferrari standards of the day.

I don't care either way - just asking.
