    Hey,

I'm thinking of planning a trip to see the champ cars run at Laguna Seca. I see that you can buy a ticket which lets you have tons of access including a hot pit pass.

Has anyone done this? Sounds like a lot of fun. Anybody else interested?

Hot pit pass? I know less than nothing about champ cars (they have four wheels? cool!), but seeing hot pits for any racing series should be fun.

Years ago when CART was the only Indy league I used to go and see the LB GP every year. We used to get pit pass through Toyota to go see the cars but no drivers were availble. From time to time, I was able to catch some drivers like Micheal A., and Emmo for a picture while they were scootering to get to their garage. Now a days, If you see one car you have seen them all. The chassis are very similar between the teams and don't change year to year. I think now they all have the same engines and chase each other like NASCAR around ovalls. Laguna should be interesting...

Don't know them anymore, there are probably new owners since the yesteryears when I used to follow the races... Who is it? May be we can bug him about garage pass instead of pit pass and go shoot the fat with them mechanix.

That would be cool. I've heard that since the split, being able to talk to the drivers and mechanics is a lot easier. They are encouraging it, since they are trying hard to build a strong fan base. So it might be interesting nonetheless.

The champ cars (CART Series) are worth seeing, even more so at a road course. 2.6 liter engines w/ 800 h.p. The irl series is all ovals -boring just like nascar. I came from the midwest and the Road America track at Elkhart Lake is one to put on your "to do" list.

I'm not an IRL fan either, but they are apparently going to run at Infineon next year. Looks like they're trying to invade Champ Car turf all the way in the future.
