Does anyone know this car or this dealer? Car appears to be in gorgeous condition. Does anyone know a REALLY GOOD jag mechanic in that area (Ft. Lauderdale)? Thanks, Kevin http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1962-Jaguar-E-Type-Series-1-Roadster-/200732446699?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item2ebc960feb
Looks like an older restoration. Panel gaps not perfect. Check the shadow line under the passenger door. Ed
I noticed that too. I'm pretty tolerant about those things - my E Type's hood isn't perfectly aligned (although it's a driver, not a concours resto) - but at this price, I'd expect a little more.
I know a guy that isn't in FL, but he does historic racing with his E-Type. You could probably check his schedule or see if he knows people in the area. Check out Terry Lippincott of Lippincott's Garage in Sinking Spring, PA. Absolutely the most honest, straight up guy you'll ever meet. He's getting up there in age, but the man is a magician and truly one of the best. He worked on my E - I went to him off a recommendation from a fellow F-Chatter, and I could not have been more impressed.
Series 1 cars have 265 hp vs 245 for series 2. Series 1 cars have smaller lights, bumpers, covered headlights and grill opening, thus they are just prettier. Ed
