Thinking about getting out of my escalade ext and going with a black/black 2008 Cayenne gts.

Been really wanting a more fun daily driver. Seems like a good car and price.

Does anyone have any experience good or bad? Recommendations? Any reason why I should look at a different year, must have options?

    Thanks in advance

    auto or manual?

I can't imagine the manual would have much resale value (or be easy to sell), but would be a lot of fun :)

a few Fchatters have them, the gas mileage sucks of course and they are potentially disastrous out of warranty, but they are great trucks. light years ahead of an Escalade.

If i had to get an SUV (which i hope never will happen) it's the one i would get. It does look good with the big wheels and sounds great. Interior is very nice and the handling is pretty good too. Didnt know the GTS was available in manual..

    i have an '08 black/black turbo cayenne.
i test drove the '08 gts, but strongly preferred the extra horsepower in the turbo.
i have 24K miles on my vehicle and it has never had a problem.
the early model cayennes, however had "growing pains".
my '04 cayenne, for example, had been back to the dealer around 20 times for various stupid repairs.
i predict you will LOVE the cayenne.
if you get a vehicle with a navigation module, you can add bluetooth connectivity for your cell phone with an aftermarket kit.
pm me if you are interested in further details.

We have a 2009, which is probably the same, and it is a terrific vehicle. The interior is beautiful, it drives more like a car than a truck, and has been trouble free. I recommend looking for one with the xenon lights, ours doesn't have them and I wish it did.

One of my favorite SUVs. The sounds, performance and details of the GTS are fantastic. Drive one and you will know right away if it is the truck for you.

    Good Luck with your search.

I loved mine but it was a small suv so we upsized to a Tahoe. The Cayenne was/is a blast to drive. If you don't need the room you will love it.

My recommendation woould be to ditch the previous styling and technology and go with the new Cayenne S or turbo. Either ways you cant go wrong.
