Yeah, I am hone sick and a little tired of all the Cali bullsh!t, so I am thinking it is time for me to get the f^ck outta here and go home, or further east across the pond for two or three years.

Seems the only people I meet here that I like are not from here anyway, so I figure go to the source, get back to fashion and away from the Playboy types.

I am at a crossroads in life and thinking of the pros and cons of it all. Weather is not a problem, I stood outside in the rain in short sleeves two weeks ago taking pix of a girl spread across Noah's hood (to illustrate my point).

Currently my NYH area presence is just coming back to meet models and hang out for a bit, not really anything that I can sink my teeth into.

I have avoided Stanford religiously because I knew once I was out there I'd never leave...

Seriously though, NYC is where the money is. I'm a country boy at heart, and I'm only here as long as I need to be...

Weather here sucks. If you are fine with freezing cold, slush, dirt and muck 4-5 months a year, then yes, NY is better than calif. Prices are the same both places anyway.

Of course. the other big difference is that LA doesn't have www.gothamdreamcars.com wait. is that what you are talking about :)

There is a famous true Harrison Ford story that I won't go into now...it is Fall Fashion Week here in NYC and it is really crazy..you should be here this week, there is huge demand for these services and everyone is networking and connecting and going f*n' insane at a million miles a minute ....all are openly ready to quit the nutty rat race and go and chill on a beach...sports cars, convertibles, bikinis, surfing golf and boats...tennis it is much better quailty of life.....esp. for a car/ferrari guy.

Well, see I like the fashion girls more than the playboy types. I am a little burned out on the bunny crowd...l. for now ;)

Yeah fashion week is my Superbowl, I love the fast paced nature of it and actually, I'd work for a fashion house if I came back, not as a photographer, but art direction, graphic production whatever. I have wasted too much time in LA with the big boob crowd that I have lost my eye for fashion and need to re-immerse myself.

Rob, I don't swing both ways (bi-coastal), I tried that and that has left me with weak connections on both coasts. I need to focus on what is important.

I still have not made a choice yet, there is time on the clock here in LA so we will run it out and see what happens.

and speak spanish you could do ok in Miami. Worth considering although awful hot/humid in the summer. Another thought is just to follow the fashion scene as the models do and follow the migration of the models around the globe through the seasons each year.... Germany, Barcelona, Dubia, indonesia, st baarts etc... you kow all this as well I am sure. Figure out what it is YOU want, don't just shoot for the glamourous life or you will end up misrable even with the boats beach, bikinis and young boobs ...

    I vote: COME BACK!

NYC is the place to be - weather should only count in small part or your decision. NYers complain about the weather, but if they moved and lived somewhere else in the world other than NYC, they'd regret leaving, oh and btw, they're only B&T, so their opinion doesn't count :p

I lived in Colorado and it was beautiful with beautiful women too. I lived in Italy, France and Ireland and travelled throughout Europe for work and pleasure and there are beautiful women and places there too. Doesn't matter.

NYC is the BEST! It doesn't have the weather or the beaches, but its got a lifestyle all its own that no other place in the world can match.

You NYers leave, live somewhere else, and THEN tell me NYC sucks...

    Well, there's my blunt, un-sugar coated $0.02

Sadly, no. I mean if I was thinking below the belt, I'd stay in LA. Then again, I was not doing too bad in NY on the last trip either ;)

So I may be cleaning house. Killing my lease in 30 days, taking a sublet, gonna give LA 6 months to see what happens.
Cutting my rep, cutting my Vegas client, cutting off ties to a lot of girls that were just hanging out for career advancement, selling gear, auto stuff, furniture, and taking stock in life.

Yeah January was that wake up call for me to do something. When everything that mattered (as shallow as those things were) is gone, you re-evaluate, move on. Feels like I have been sleepwalking through life for too long.

    Tim,

Don't worry. Everyone complaining about the weather here is not living in NYC. They are all "bridge and tunnel people".

We will welcome you back to NYC
