Is there anything out of the ordinary due at this service interval, i reckon i will have 16K miles soon on my 2009 HGTE. Looking in the service book, spark plugs, gearbox oil, F1 oil change come at approx 25K miles. Or would anybody recommend any extras being carried out whilst its in the garage? Much appreciated for any advice.
Look for the time interval in the book, not the mileage, except for some mileage only items. Your HGTE (assume you are in the UK, since there are no US original 2009 HGTEs and you used whilst) is 13 years old and there are many 1, 2, and 3 year service items. As an example on your list, F1 fluid should be changed every 3 years, not at 25,000 miles. Here are the factory recommendations. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hi Terry - many thanks for your help on this. I wonder why your maintenance book is different from the one i own? ( its not me being stupid is it ?), Its the original book that came with the car as it contains all of the dealer service stamps in the back dating back to 2010?. Image Unavailable, Please Login yeah you are right, she is resides in the UK. Its her MOT tomorrow at JCT Leeds Ferrari so i will make some enquiries while i am there. PS Terry I hope you dont think i am being rude, but! I'm gonna drive my daddy's Thunderbird (My daddy's Thunderbird) A white rad ride, '66 ('67) So glam, it's absurd I'm gonna put her in the back seat And drive her to Tennessee Dont you just love Prince!
John- That one is surely different, and they should be the same. What do the little numbers in parentheses tell you? About all I know about Prince is from watching Purple Rain. I am pretty much musically illiterate.
Terry - so i have just come back from the Ferrari dealership in Leeds and spent a good hour talking to Danny the technician about my car, what he has highlighted on the MOT report and its next service. Re maintenance book - The little numbers on the parentheses relate to " heavy driving " or " hot dusty conditions ", it simply says that you must change more frequently if these occur. I asked him why my service book was different to yours, he said they see it quite often with Ferrari, 2 identical cars can come in but the maintenance guide and frequency description is different! He agrees with Dominic, they would replace the auxillary belts at this stage of the cars life. Re Spark plugs - if its running well with no misfires then he would leave them at this stage- but entirely up to me / cost. Re F1 Oil - is it changing gear smoothly, if yes, then again he would leave at this service - ditto above, but he did point out that changing the F1 oil is a lengthy procedure so high on labour cost. I have to say i was deeply impressed with both technicians at JCT Ferrari Leeds, Danny and Gina could not do enough for me this morning. Not only did Danny carry out the mot but he did a full health check as well, clutch wear %, brake disc wear %,etc, i spent a good hour with him and my car, nothing was left out. Not forgetting Daryl the service manager, again a top bloke, everything explained fully, no hidden costs! - all of the above for £55.00 Go and visit the new showroom and facility at Leeds, you will not be disappointed.
Even if you don't change F1 fluid ..you can as a diy suck a little out of reservoir every week of so of driving for about three times..always replacing with exactly the same new fluid Always use sane type fluid that is in there ..usually can tell by color Terry always suggests this as well Sent from my moto g power using Tapatalk
Dominick- Yup, most F1 problems are caused by a lack of regular servicing. Half of my F1 fluid gets changed out every year with a turkey baster.
