Good morning , i am going to buy a 550 barchetta with only 7000 km , but i have discovered that the last service was done by a very famous ferrari workshop but NOT an official/authorized one . Do you think this should be a problem for the future re sale of the car?

    Thanks

Is one remedy to that situation to have the next service done at a Ferrari authorized shop and have them re-check everything?

Also, would getting the car Ferrari Classiche Certified help?

Would not be an issue for me as long as it is documented. Mine has not seen an authorized dealer for nearly 9 years (nearest is 400 miles/644 kms), but all the work is well documented.

This is another example of Ferrari silliness, alongside the devaluation of cars with anything above minimal mileage or in anything but red or possibly black paintwork!

There are some absolutely top flight indies - several of whom regularly contribute to F-chat - whereas many of the official dealers employ 'fitters' who only do what it says in the book and lack the experience or interest to tackle jobs the owner might not have identified.

For me, stamps by one of the acclaimed 'good guys' would actually enhance the value of a Ferrari. But what do I know? I like blue cars and actually drive them!
