    Hey guys,

I'm new to the world of Ferraris and I just subscribed today to fchat. I've got a 355 F1 and I wanted to know if you have any experience with service work done other then FOW. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with FOW I'd just like to see if there are options..

Also, I need new front tires and I posted the info in this thread...

Can anyone put these on? Who do you use?

For wheel/tire work I suggest Wheel Worx in Millersville(410-969-7282). They were very pleasant to work with and the prices are not that bad.

    Hey Eric,

    Congrats on your new purchase!

Not sure where you live but I would recommend Radial Tire Company in Silver Spring, MD They are more than capable of handling your tire needs, can give expert advice on the problem you may be experiencing....and they offer favorable pricing. Most of the local car club "track junkies" (FCA included) use them for their tire needs for the reasons stated above.

They can be reached at 301-585-2740 ask for Paul or Sam, tell them that "Porsche Paul" sent you. Be patient when you call as they are crazy-busy all the time!

On your service question....FOW is probably your best bet in the area as being "the dealer" they are trained on the latest technology and equipment...then of course there is Algar in PA.

There are however several competent independants in the area... Grand Touring Motors in Laurel, and M&W Motors in Prince Fredrick.

Either of these shops in my opinion can handle most of your mechanical needs but when it turns to electromechanical such as OBD or OBDII and the reading and resetting of various DME fault codes, both may be limited and thus you are back to the dealer. However, for all I know...these shops may have invested in the equipment required to read the various electronic motor controls of todays Ferrari, a call to them can confirm.

Good Luck and enjoy your Stallion!

I would also rec. FOW. They have a pick up service as well. Maybe expensive but there's a whole dealership to stand behind the work that they do. I've been waiting 5 months for a spot at Grand Touring-I'd say they aren't really an option for you if your car is something other than a static sculpture.
