Has anyone ever had any luck in obtaining service records from a Ferrari dealership? I purchased a 458 that had spent most of its life in Texas. I purchased the car from a Ferrari dealership in NC. Ferrari of Houston has 6 service records and would not share any information. This doesn’t seem right. I asked if they would get the previous owners permission and mark out all of their personal info. I offered to pay for this and the service manager replied “have a nice day”.

FoD provided me all service records from the previous (1) owner(s) for both my 355 and 458. That said, the previous owner of the 355 was/is a loyal FoD customer and actually provided everything TO them for me / the 458 previous owner not only provided the service records but the book that came with the car new and a Ferrari red leather binder with commemorative documentation- So it is not always about the dealer- but they should do everything in their power- especially if they serviced the car- to provide you with the service history- obviously with previous owner's personal info redacted.

It's not an unreasonable request and frankly is part of "the code" of Ferrari ownership.

    Good luck

Ps- As I think about it you might try (it's a good resource anyway) registering on the MyGarage site on the main Ferrari.com site- you have to provide information to prove you are the owner but once registered I believe if the car was serviced by authorized Ferrari dealers and they updated the records properly that the service/recall history follows the car.

    Cheers

Yes, the car is registered on the Ferrari site as me being the owner.

In my experience, the MyFerrari app only shows service details of the current owner, not the previous owner. It's still worth it to register.

I sent an email to the general manager hoping that he can help me out. I did let him know that the car is registered on the MyFerrari app.

Hope it works out - Your other resource is to run a Carfax on it - Usually that at least shows that the car was serviced and in some cases a high-level statement as to what was done so at least you have a chronology. Frankly I am surprised that your basic request is being met with such disregard - anyone associated with exotic cars - especially Ferrari's - knows that the presence of complete maintenance records can be a make/break factor on a deal and if nothing else make a significant difference in selling price. How many times have we all seen ads for "Ferrari XXXX for sale - all books, maintenance records, keys, inserts, tools included" at price point X versus "Ferrari YYYY for sale - spotty maintenance records - no original manuals - one key - partial toolkit" at price point Y.

FWIW that is quite unlike Ferrari if Houston from my understanding - They are one of the premier Ferrari Dealers in the US and was home to the Risi Competizione racing team for years - They generally have a stellar reputation so hopefully your escalation to the GM will get you somewhere.

    Good luck - Cheers :)
