Ok, been dealing with this for a while now. Originally thought it might be a bad TPMS but I just replaced all of them with new ones and the situation isn’t changing. I can only assume it’s a reader or something along those lines.

What happens is that the Service TPMS light comes on randomly and then goes off. Sometimes it stays on for a while but is off when the car is restarted. To clarify, this is NOT a warning that I’m low on pressure. At one point it even read 0 psi on one tire and then went back to the correct reading. The issue is centralized to the right rear as far as I can tell, but I still get pressure readings from each tire if I cycle through them when the light comes on.

I figured maybe it was a bad antenna or something in the wheel wheel but looking at the parts diagram, there are several parts listed and no clue which one could be the culprit. There’s an “Antenna” clearly depicted in the wheel well, but then there’s a “trigger” which is in the small diagram also in a wheel well looking picture, then another “TPMS Antenna” that apparently mounts to a bracket somewhere.

Any ideas or do you think maybe the main unit is bad?

What year is the car? If 2005-2007 there is a TPMS reset under the driver side. You can try that, but if its a 2008-2009 model the system should self calibrate. I feel it may be the one sensor bad in the wheel.

it’s a 2008. No reset unfortunately. The sensors are all new.

I do not know if the 430 has this but I had a similar issue with my 599 that I chased to a brake switch on top of the brake pedal arm. The mechanical switch was sticking. A little cleaning and lithium spray solved the problem (probably just temporarily). It was worse in the winter.

Interesting. Curious as to how a brake switch would affect the TPMS system.

Decided to buy a replacement antenna which I found out were different for the newer chassis vehicles (08+ assuming). So, my antenna is $105 new from Eurospares while the older antennas are only $30. Was going to replace all four before I found out I had the newer version. Will post back to see if it helps.

The frustrating thing is, the light will come on during a drive (like this past weekend), but turn off before I have a chance to get my code reader and check it out. Or, completely reset when I cycle the ignition. Makes me wonder if it really is the antenna or the ECU since it tends to clear out with a reset.
