Hello all, it's been a year car sitting in the garage without driving. Work and baby sitting grand kids leaves no time even look at her. Finally decided to go ahead and start working on it.
First drain the coolant the radiator and right side of engine block is the main drain points but you may try heather too by removing the right front fender inner cover to have access to heather hoses, I do not have picture of that but it is straight forward procedure. It's been reported removing the coolant ducts in engine bay under the Plenum will give you access to drain the remaining of the coolant from engine block but that was not accessible and left me with major more work to do. Picture #1.
Next removing the spark plugs was another history to figure out what size socket will fit.
The timing belts I have on been replaced about 7-8 year ago and I have to readjust the tension 5 years ago because it was so lose no tension could be recorded. but they are still looks good. I fabricated a stand for dial indicator from a spark plug, aluminum tub and a washer to keep the Dial gauge as vertical as can be. picture #2. Dial wheel also managed to install for TDC.
Finding piston stop for Ferrari was another history, the ONLY available one for M12 x 1,25 is about $50 . I manage to find one on UK eBay for $8 dollar picture #3 if anyone interested.
I could not find the true TDC by piston stop because the damned dial wheel was slipping and giving different readings so I rely on dial gauge which was very accurate. These are the findings on my engines as far as timing marks goes. The front right intake and exhaust marks picture #4, 5. The front left intake and exhaust marks picture # 6 and 7.
