hi, here is a set of 3 alarm fobs (2 black, 1 red) available on ebay UK : http://cgi.ebay.fr/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160405255247&ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:FR:1123#ht_500wt_1182
Eric- If you want to use them for a Euro car (US 315 Mhz, Euro 433 Mhz) and program your Alarm ECU to accept them with you knowing the new PIN, yes, you need the PIN. If you have your old PIN and these fobs are the correct frequency for your car, you could program your ECU to accept them, but you would not know the PIN and have to rely on cloning fobs in the future. Thanks terry for your answer. As I still have the original red one and two blacks plus original PIN for my car, I could use only the black ones out of the the offered set for cloning them with my red one - if I understand correctly. So what good does the red one of the offered set if they don't provide the appropriate PIN? Eric
Eric- You can clone your red fob just as easily as your black ones. What you would end up with would be a complete set of three duplicate fobs with the same PIN as your original set. Taz Terry Phillips
Out of curiousity, how much is he asking? (I couldn't get the link to work) . I have a black and red set of fobs off a 1998 US 550, that I was going to sell at some point. I had bought them for my car, but never converted them.
Original post was from Feb 2010. This is what's currently available: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ferrari-550-575-Maranello-Alarm-Fobs-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem43a4b4c03dQQitemZ290526117949QQptZMotorsQ5fManualsQ5fLiterature
Robbie- No difference in hardware between a red fob and black fob except for the color of the plastic. The EEPROMs are identical and the red fob just contains one additional piece of info, the PIN. You can clone reds to blacks and blacks to reds. After initial use of the red fob to program the Alarm ECU to accept a new set of three matched fobs, there is no difference in day to day use of red and black fobs. Only the fob rolling code is used by the ECU to arm and disarm the system and lock and unlock the doors. You cannot use a red fob to program the ECU to accept additional black fobs. Taz Terry Phillips
