Someone here needs to PM me their address, because I owe someone some Stella Artois :)

I said Mosley would be out by the end of the year. Andreas knew better.

I even think Mosley will still be around 1 year from today also, despite promises during the vote of confidence that he would be out soon anyway!

I wish I had made that wager...that's some good stuff!

Speaking of wagers, what ever happened with the "big one" from last season? Hint: 10K

    Silly bet to make.

Only the good die young, so this guy will be around for another 100 years or so.

That's actually kinda surprising. Pegged him for a lot of things but pansy wasn't one of them. I wonder who will pick up his never wavering Massa bashing gauntlet for next season. :D

You are correct, it was silly in retrospect. I seriously underestimated the extent of FIA corruption.

As for MaxPorn, I am still optimistic he will die in a hooker spanking fire.

I have a *great* extended clip of Massas family jumping for joy as they thought he had won the WDC... the clips we've all seen end when the mechanic tells them he didn't really win and they all put on their "oh $h!t" face. But the extended version has a Ferrari mechanic go nutso and start smashing things.

I'd post it but I think I'd be lynched :)

Errrr, and I can't possibly think who will pick up the Massa-bashing gauntlet after Ted bailed on his bet.

No one in their right mind will bash Massa after his (surprising) performance this year.

Last few seconds of last season, not so great end to what ended up being not a very good season.

After a all time low at Silverstone, Massa put to bed most bashers, but there waiting in the wings....;)

I used to be a strident Massa basher, but after this season it's impossible not to recognize his work ethic and his desire to improve his driving and racecraft and actually get results based upon that determination.

He's not a scintillating driver, nor does he have that innate predatory lust for the hunt in him like Schumi or Alonso have, but he has the desire and the determination to win, even if he doesn't have the natural skill to do so.

In many ways he's the Anti-Kimi or the Anti-Jacques..guys that have truckloads of talent but small will power...Massa has giant will and much smaller natural talent. That he's still in F1 and put in a top drive last year in a top team and narrowly missed the WDC speaks a lot for the man.

I'll be cheering for Massa this year, not because he deserves it, but because he has finally shown everyone that resolute determination can keep you in a game that you have no business being in.

You have to respect Massa for what he did this year. I was never the biggest Massa fan but this season he has definitely won me over. If Kimi doesn't decide to wake up from his year long hangover, I might just start rooting for the little guy instead.

The "Stella holiday 5 pack"? :)

+1 on the Massa comments. I've always liked him, but he did give "cause for doubt" on a few occasions.

    I still can't stand Massa's personality.

As for Massa bashing: I'll hold back as long as the over the top Massadoration doesn't happen. You know the one with Massappeal, where TifosiRon waxes poetically how Massa is better than Senna, was a disciple at Schumacher's feet and has drunken Enzo's blood while cooking chocolate mints for his grand mother.

Great post, but where is TifosiRon anyway. Actually, I think Massa's personality at the last race showed a lot of heart and good emotion.

Ron left FChat heartbroken over Interlagos. :)

Massa @ Interlagos was ok. Massa on the podium in Barcelona was not. To name just one example.

    Damn Andreas, that's deep!

+1 He won me over some last year but I still think there are far better drivers than him on the grid. If he can keep up the consistency from last year maybe I'll change my mind.

I defended Massa for a long time then joined the Massa sucks camp. I am still there, despite his good year. -->Line from Gone in 60 Seconds when Delroy Lindo gets toasted by Nicholas Cage in the Nitro Mustang--Lindo's partner said "It's mostly the car!" Same for Massa.

Mike: you also said that Fernando Alonso was done and that he'd never win a single race again.

Technically, you're right, he didn't win a single race, he won two races, but gramatically you're still wrong.

You can't stand Massa's personality? why is that? i think he has the best personality on the grid at the moment. always light hearted, being funny when the time is right and being serious when the time is right. he's also a great winner, as well as a great loser. in fact, he reminds me of Mika Hakkinen.

Mika never said one bad thing when Mclaren wer slowly screwing up his motivation. Massa knows, deep down, despite his mistakes in Malaysia and Britain, the team, arguably the top team in F1 let him down with some poor judgement and pit performances.

But what did he say? 'We win together, we lose together'.

Get over your Massaeppeal thing Andreas. Admit that he shocked the whole world, including you, with his performance last year.
