I wonder if any of you added a sexy cup holder to your Ferrari ?! I personally love the authentic flags on the ash tray that many people removed to replace by a cup holder... so i tried a DIY cup holder: got a CF bike one from ebay, a 12" twisted flat plate from Home Depot, a piece of 3M double sided tape from HD, and self adhesive black velour sheet from Michaels, a ferrari shield sticker, couple of screws... et Voila ! I was very pleased with the results. I placed it in a very natural location and far from any electronics. This is actually the second time i create a cup holder, but this time it is perfected ! No drilling in the car of course... Total cost excluding the bike cup holder itself which is really up to you to choose, from a large selection online, 4.5 US$ ! Hope you like it Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I guess we are in the court of public opinion. This doesn't work for me aesthetically for several reasons, but mainly the thinness of the bar and the height. I might rather use a leather sock and reduce the height. From a technical standpoint, it's also concerning that the double tape may shear, especially during bumps were the weight can double or triple. What if you attached the bar from behind the bottom of the center dash panel it could be secured more strongly? I frankly don't know why I'm commenting, since I have a phone holder there that's probably hideous in comparison, I just don't see it because holding the phone has perceivably higher value for me. ;-P
Well done Mark! I didn't know they had carbon fiber bicycle ones like that! I am not sure I understand the mounting method but I like the holder and the shield! Nice! When I added one I was looking for something that matched the finish and organic lines of the stock interior and went with one of these but we know there are a lot of carbon lovers in here! Very creative.... I always have a problem putting a cup while driving. Guess Ferrari wants you to focus on driving so they did not put the cup holder.. I open the ashtray and put the starbucks drink in between them... When you accelerate or making a turn, you need to grab the cup but WTH, you deal with it as you are driving a Ferrari. I thought about the carbon cup holder that goes into the ashtray but did not think it is low enough to hold my Trente Starbucks so I did not get it...
There is a hole in the seat rail that can be used as a mounting point. You end up ditching the nice plastic end cover but no one can see it anyway. I installed mine on my Safecraft inspired fire extinguisher mount. I opened this thread fully expecting to see pictures of attractive women in the passenger seat holding drinks... LOL I was wrong.
Me too. Sometimes you just have to take matters in your own hands ...so to speak. Full disclaimer: This is NOT my cupholder. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Kevin, I'd love to emulate that fire extinguisher and cup holder you built. We'll done! I'll send a PM as I don't want to hijack this thread.
As we know since the 360 doesnt have cup holders i usually dont drink out of cups. I just buy a bottled drink and after i have a few gulps ill put the bottle behind the passenger seat or on the seat itself.. if im with a passenger seat thats my bottle holder lol
I do the same. The problem is that unless you recap the bottle tightly, you end up with soaked back shelf or a swimming pool in your passenger seat. I am also looking for a decent bottle holder, preferably mounted low at floor level.
Don't know, Carbonio products have a great quality though: Carbonio Performance - Ferrari 360 430 456 550 Cup Holder
I bought the Carbonio one then gently took the crossed flags emblem off my (broken) ashtray and attached it to the lid that covers the roof/hood switches. Works perfectly for me.
I have a Carbonio version from my last 430, but am looking for a good cup holder idea for the Scud. For now, its just bottled water behind the seat.
