Do you think there will be a replacement for the SF90 Stradale? What do you think its technical characteristics will be ?
obviously there will be a replacement, but not anytime soon. My guess is same architecture, v8 turbo hybrid: evolved ICE with same improvements as the new 296's V6 and new gen batteries/kers, to achieve more power/efficiency an perhaps less weight
Certainly. However I believe (hope) that a special version will be presented first. As has been done for other models like the 488 GTB. If you want to imagine the model that will replace it in the future. I trust in a substantial weight reduction and design more in line with Ferrari style.
I think this was confirmed by a couple internal sources and dealers but there will be no VS version for the SF90. The 296 on the other hand will receive the treatment.
It´s still early. I suppose they´ll make a "M" version that passes the pollution/homologation issues that they have now and keep selling it without too many changes.
as far I understood, AF is the "special" version...but who knows, after the recent "slap" of the plaid ...
I transferred the question that Jpalmito asked in the 812 replacement thread. SF90 replacement with the new V12 ?
I was actually going to buy the SF90's replacement's replacement VS edition. I'm #3 on the list with the dealer. Just four more Portofino Ms and a Tailor Made Purosangue and I'll have the top spot.
on the km the result would not change: the SF90 over 220/230 kmh reduces the power of the hybrid by turning off the front electric axle, that garanted a total power of 220hp when combined with the rear e-engine (that have 204hp when work alone, so a little downgrade from 220hp) while the tesla deliver all of his 1020hp. In addition, the SF90 have a little drop in the torque delivery at every shift, even with a very fast gearbox. You can clearly see the tesla gain at every shift by ferrary, and catch up the sf90 even at high speed with a jump start for the sf90....you need more than 1000m to see the sf90 go ahead...so in every common scenario the sf90 will lost at every flat out, no match...sad but true.
That's incorrect. At 220 kph the front motors disengage and the battery energy goes to the rear electric motor instead. The 1000 CV is maintained till the top speed (in Quali mode obviously)! It's that little trick that electric motors do with an overboost. So, I stick to what I said earlier.
yes, but the rear e- engine have "only" 150kw/204hp...not 220hp, the front ones have 100kw/136hp each but the total system power in "AWD" can't hit over 220hp combined (due to the battery limit). So over 220kph you have 780+204hp, not 780+220...
One of my best friends got a Plaid. It is really fast on a drag start. He was teasing me at lunch that we should race. I said sure thing: I'll give him a 100 mile head start, and we race from Las Vegas to LA (that's about 4 hours away in a normal car). In 30 minutes of hard driving his Plaid will be out of battery or overheat, then need to charge... while the Ferrari will do 100+ all day long and can gas up in 3-4 minutes per stop. There are some aspects that Tesla is advanced, but reliability and endurance are not those things.
According to Ferrari the rear motor car reach 220 when given all the power of the battery, contrary to its nominal 204 output. Not that 16 HP would make much of a difference. The Stradale has been clocked at 17.1'' for the standing kilometre, an amazing figure!
The problem of course is having to drive that amounts to a souped up a toaster oven. Well, that or having to regurgitate every “stat” to prove said toaster oven is somehow superior to a Ferrari. Kinda funny, mostly sad.
What happens to the plaid when there is a curve or there is a turn further down the road where they actually have to use the steering wheel and not just the gas pedal? Can they keep up with the SF90 at that point?
Theres a video where a Plaid driver is begging them to fit appropriate brakes. It could be a very dangerous situation, as with most cars, the power of the brakes is greater than the power of the propulsion. Here that is reversed. Who knows what will happen with the eventual replacement. I think they still have several more years of production. I will offer my guess, but that's all it is. I think they've established this part of the line up as a technology showcase. And as such, they could decide to go with something entirely different than a SF90 Modificata - or it could be that.

[Q UOTE="TheMayor, post: 148187987, member: 60154"]The replacement will be all electric.[/QUOTE] That’s what I was thinking. The announced for 2025 full electric could be the SF90 replacement. As it was the first (regular series) hybrid, it would be a logical step this to be the first electric. The buyers of that car are more ready for the next level.
