To the contrary, I have a terrific sense of humor. But, I’ve never gotten the sense your commentary is rooted in humor. Rather, I’ve seen vitriol directed at those who disagree with your opinions of the Purosangue, SF90, 296 and SF90 XX. Moreover, I see a recurring theme about all that’s wrong with the direction Ferrari is headed. You have every right to have an opinion here. But, when you antagonize people and drone on with constant negativity about cars you have no experience with or vested interest in, you need to accept that some folks won’t take kindly to that.
Lots of tit-for-tat going on in this thread. @day355 and @Glenn Quagmire knock it off, disengage with each other.
That is exactly what I am talking about! Where you make it a question of personalities, I only make it a question of substance! I've been immersed in the brand for more than 30 years, and where you only have an external point of view, I have many more! So, yes, the "boat is sinking" in terms of passion, because today it is mainly consumer cars, like the one you mention, that Ferrari produces, and no longer enthusiasts' cars. all of this in an exclusively Financial. So yes, the clientele has changed, and I certainly have less affinity for the one who glorifies an SF90, a 296 than the one who drives a TDF and an F40 or whatever! This is a fact, because car consumption is not part of my vision of Ferrari. I respect those who buy them and want "another Ferrari", but I will express my disagreement with this development from below ! Legitimizing Ferrari just because the badge is still there is not part of my design. Progress from below is a regression. And to put you at ease, I was one of the first to drive the SF 90 on the heights of Monaco, the same for the 296...which I talk about from what I experienced ! I've had the chance to ride in all models from the 308 to the 296, to the only lack experiment of the 288 GTO, so take a step back from things, and come with good arguments . Talk about it rather than offend you because your cars are not considered exceptional. Personally you can say that my F 12 is a bad car if you want with objective arguments, it won't prevent me from enjoying it, nor from feeling insulted. When it comes to "the big table", you can find everyone, including, as well said, people who don't understand anything about the brand and its history. So there's " no need to take all this seriously ", in less than 100 years no one will not be sniffed of us, and certainly not your children's grandchildren, And there will only be a few photos on a USB port, maybe even more !. Enjoy in the meantime !!!
I must be on a different wavelength. I love the old and the new and believe they all represent Ferrari. After all, the old was new, controversial and innovative once. Enzo himself famously disliked the mid-engined layout and preferred front-engined. But who now thinks a 246 Dino is not a beautiful Ferrari to drive and look at? Or the 308, 355 or 458? The SF90 is a powerhouse of a car and compares properly to a TDF or an F40, just from a different era and standpoint. You’ll see. Tastes will change and understanding of what is great about these hybrids will follow. And not any of it will demean the history of Ferrari or the greatness of the F40 or TDF. In the same way as the F40 did not make irrelevant the 288 GTO or even the 250 GTO. Closed minds never find understanding. Better to retain an open mind, even if it is perfectly fine to dislike something.
There is nothing factual about that; it's just your personal preference. Objectively (which is factual), the SF90 and the 296 are the superior machines in every metric.
This deep into a thread - would rather hear from someone positive or negative who is sitting or desires to sit at the table vs someone with no desire.
Feel free to post a pic of 296 SF90 driving - you won't because you can't and Fyi this is XX thread. As far as consumable F cars - Dino prices trailed 308 prices until the mid '80s -
But obejctively tdf is more exciting to drive than both SF90 and 296 [emoji6] Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
I saw what you did there. Realistically though, one cannot objectify excitement. I am one of those few who didn't really like the F40 experience. Raw? Yes! Too crude though.
turning the traction control off in the pista / 296 / etc all make the car objectively more 'exciting' - the more dangerous the car feels the more exciting it is (for many people at least)
In the end it's all about what things capture your imagination and that you find involve your emotions and senses. The most import important thing is to find the car that lines up best with your own preferences. So it's entirely subjective- and that will always be the case. I think we go down the wrong path when we try to argue that others' preferences should necessarily align with our own. We all enjoy it when that happens, but we're all different. Anyway so far I have found myself more intellectually stimulated by the SF90 but I am hoping the XX adds more emotion for me.
Many of us know of one another in this thread section - heavily invested emotionally and monetarily. Small world at this level and even smaller who are capable of handling 1000hp. I find it hard to believe more than 1 - 2% of XX owners capable of producing the XX full ability and maybe a few of those post. I'm not saying fast skilled, more like all out track attack short of spinning out. The XX comes down to a few guys who love cars. The ones who don't love or admire the SF90 XX ... jibber jabber and will remain til the owners get the XX's in their hands.
The Pista is gorgeous from all angles. It has such a cohesive design. A lot of Ferrari's recently have really missed the boat on that.
He might not have had to play the dealer game as much as most do, but he has had to play it. He has bought new - SF90, 296 ( which he doesn't drive), PS and a Roma Spider . In the past he has had a few FF/ Lusso's..
I understand where you are coming from, but, if you don’t like him, do you really want to give him that power? I think you should be either in or out of the brand on your own opinion of the brand. Surely there will be those who own these cars that you dont like Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat
Sad. Why Ferrari allows him to cut in line, let alone moved to the front. I enjoy him but Ferrari does not need him - it's a bad look to loyal customers and friends of what Ferrari calls the family.
