From my dealer in the US, "2 year extended coverage plus for SF90 or 296 is $20,600; 3 year is $30,900. Not cheap! Also just learned that a new HVB (high voltage battery) in these cars is now down to roughly $36k (parts only). You get the free HVB replacement at the end of the 7th year only if you keep it covered until then (pay for extended coverage plus program). So to get 7-yrs bumper to bumper you are in it $41,200." Something tells me the $36k battery price (parts only) is per battery which is QNTY=1 for the 296 but QNTY=2 big ones and QNTY=2 smaller, for the SF90. Dealer also mentioned that Ferrari expects battery pricing to drop significantly over time. I have a 296 on order and will be paying for the extended coverage plus once the standard 3-yr warranty expires. I figure I'm in it for at least one battery replacement so I will pay for the coverage and essentially get the battery labor and additional bumper:bumper warranty for slightly more than the HVB part only. Hope this helps.
Thanks for the info, what I was looking for. Numerous reasonably priced 2021 SF90s available out of warranty, but obviously need to factor this in!
The following is my understanding after talking with my dealer; ORIGINAL FACTORY WARRANTY - US = 3yrs from initial “In Service Date” 4 years for Euro This warranty can be extended in 1-2 year increments up to 7 years IF it is done before the original one expires. ( I recommend doing this during purchase negotiation while you have leverage). IT DOES NOT COVER WEARABLES….Tires, Brakes…etc. BUT DOES COVER BOTH THE HIGH AND LOW VOLTAGE BATTERIES. Remember If you are buying at the dealer to get a Dealer Certified Car. This WARRANTY runs for 1 year. SERVICE WARRANTY 7 YEARS - Covers all scheduled services oil, filters, etc. HIGH VOLTAGE BATTERY WARRANTY - US Covered for 8 years and in CA, possibly longer. as was mentioned if you purchase the newly released HIGH VOLTAGE warranty and keep it covered for 7 years they will replace the battery at the last year with whatever the newest technology battery is at the time. If you don’t have an Original Factory Warranty or Extended Factory warranty in place this will protect you from an unexpected large out of pocket expense. There are number of other warranty’s available through your dealer if your car is outside the original warranty expiration. ALSO, FWIW: A 2022 base SF90 sold at Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale yesterday for $440k plus 10% commission. There is also a 2021 SF90 with 14k miles on it just listed on BAT. Regards
In France and Europe except UK, the manufacturer warranty is 3 years (4 in the UK). For hybrid cars, the hybrid components (including HV batteries) have a 5-year warranty. This one requires following the charging procedures as prescribed by Ferrari. I found the information in the Ferrari French web, but it seems the same is given for the US: https://www.ferrari.com/en-US/auto/car-part-services-warranty-maintenance
