    Good luck with the development!

Do these cars ship with particulate filters globally? Have a feeling that if they are, the integration is at a high level and may not be a simple delete.

They do indeed have GPF's just like the F8! Here is a diagram of the factory system illustrated by our friends over at Eurospares

    #7 Is the Cats
    #4 & 5 are the GPFs
    #1 rear section

It’s a simple back box with exhaust flaps to reduce the sound even further

Will take a look at it when our SF90 is delivered and what it will sound without the back box.

So it is the same with valve open if the box is doing nothing?

I assume if you pin the valves open, it is like the 488 Pista, F8 Tributo, etc. that it becomes a free flow.

OEM seems to have a back box with valves like the 488, F8, etc. where the valves open up at a certain RPM. When the valves are closed a part of the flow is directed through the back box.

But let’s see how it works when we take a closer look after delivery

    You are correct!

Valves open it will flow directly out the back, but when closed it will direct flow through the back section reducing the overall volume and tone of the car.

Ferrari did a fantastic job designing the OEM exhaust, but there is always room for improvement

Fabspeed always does an excellent job!
Hope you get a final result without that annoying turbo whistle.
Novitec's exhaust, although it increased the scream, has too much whistling. A lot of whistling even in the downshifts. Does not match Ferrari sound.

Thanks, Ab! We are doing what we can to tone down the turbo noise! Hopefully, our final result will give more of the Iconic F1 Ferrari scream everyone is after

If you remove cats it’s impossible to not have the turbo whistle in your new exhaust sound. Since Novitec mostly straight pipes their demo cars for the first videos, you hear the turbo whistle.

Even with some 100 cell cats the whistle gets much louder. Probably it is possible to design the new cats in length and diameter to reduce turbo whistle. I thing that is what real acoustic engineering is all about and then combine it with performance engineering to meet the aimed performance increase or at least to not lower the OEM output

When you open up the exhaust, you get more of the turbo sound. There will never be less of it.

The sound of a turbo has been part of some Ferraris for the past four decades, so there's nothing inherently wrong with it. Novi did a great job getting a very raw and natural sound. It is naturally high pitched, you can hear the mechanical aspects and you can hear the engine breathe. That's a great thing.

Some exhausts like the 458 IPE F1 system just sounds odd. The engine revs to 9k and that's the base, sound, and then on top you get this weird artificial thin high pitched sound, that least of all actually sounds like an engine.

We should consider it a plus if the Fabspeed system sounds as good as what Novi developed for the Pista for example. That is a nice raw and authentic sound.

While you cannot fully remove the turbo noise, you can reduce it exponentially!

Check out our Pista system, similar to Novi', we were able to overplay the spooling with pure unfiltered SOUND

Any news on the development of the Fabspeed exhaust for the SF90? It's been over a year.

Unfortunately, not yet, we are still searching for a second test car to finalize R&D. Our initial test car' owner received an offer he couldn't refuse before things got tied up!

If anyone in the NYC/PA area is interested, let me know and we can set something up. We would only need the car for laser scanning, so turn-around would be fairly quick!
