even if price drops under F430 price you still need some big amount of money, to repair hybrid system, remember that reverse gear is run by electric motor, so you can't convert hybrid SF90 into non-hybrid
I'm sure there will be some aftermarket battery rebuilders Pus the cost of batteries will continue to fall
Unless you’re going to stick to driving older cars, in a handful of years your choices for new cars will be hybrid or electric. A few years after that it’ll be electric only. The tech in both will make owning either a challenge. So, it’s not limited to Ferrari. In fact, Porsche is in the process of replacing my new Cayenne Turbo GT due to tech issues it can’t resolve…and it’s not even a hybrid.
After year 3 you have the option to purchase additional years same bumper to bumper like original or just the power train warranty which I think it’s limited coverage. Usually if you do 2 years at a time it’s slightly a better deal. As for the hybrid system it has its own 7 year warranty whether you purchase the additional years or not. True Mercedes is replacing engine in 1000 mile GLE63AMG - Tech is becoming simpler on new vs old - updates will eventually take place at your home. Older cars mechanics are becoming rare and time consuming - SF90 is seriously misunderstood and it's just a matter of time.
I am shocked at the 1.1mm sale number. My dealer still has 2 preowned at $900k that have not sold for 9+ months. I did see a low spec 2021 sell for $660k USD in Toronto last month.
Well it could be an auction trick where I’ll buy your cow for $200k and you buy mine for $200k and it makes everyone think they’re getting a bargain buying the other cows at $100k! Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Auction trick - SF90 sold at auction, which takes more than one person and if you think someone in Palm Beach cares about a "cow" - wrong When one sells for a decent number- all SF90 haters are saddened. I was there but wasn't paying attention - milking the "cow"
Well it was just a joke, I am certainly no SF90 hater! It does seem like an outlier though. Of course that’s the beauty of live auctions. People get excited and there you are! Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
How is it an outlier - BaT is not a good place for 1M new Ferrari's. Most people walk in a showroom or a venue see a car they want and buy it - the outlier is BaT and non F Dealers my .02 When was the last time Ferrari went to tracks and broke records - engine suspension hybrid awd. I'm sure you don't hate the SF90 - be nice to know why it's worth 1M vs why isn't it.
JFK Michael J & Elvis were bidding until Eno placed knockout bid. I've read your posts on forums - just cars and owners enjoying them, why does that bother you? Mac Ferrari Porsche etc. all great factories producing incredible machines to enjoy.
My guess is that it was the exact spec that several buyers wanted. I have watched several at a few dealerships that have not moved for a long time at asking prices. One I followed dropped $200k. If it had been a different color, I would have bought. I don’t follow BaT - actually I don’t really follow SF90 used market - just occasionally look at Ferrari’s website. It just seems to me that the secondary market is moving back to MSRP. Unfortunately, I switched my deposit from SF to F8 because I was a little worried about the hybrid execution. But I cannot see myself paying a bunch over MSRP for a car that is almost my spec, unless it is rare and collectible. A great part of the fun is picking all the options to get the car just as I want. So I will try the SF90 replacement. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
The "no reserve" on that particular auction is noteworthy. Either the seller was extremely confident about the car or they were extremely confident about the bidders.
How about - the market that day spoke - add buyer fees Auction is an all cash buyer so it's actually a smaller market. I have sold cars and bought cars on BaT - it's wholesale and modern Ferrari's often a bad spec and ruin their F dealer relationship - likely their last new Ferrari and by you buying one outside your dealer - don't expect an early next gen anything jus saying Anyway - wish you luck on your next gen SF90 arrival 2027 and who knows if or what it will be -
Who said it does. I've repeated here and elsewhere that depreciation should be irrelevant when buying and enjoying these cars. Just buy and drive. Money spent on buying a car is gone the day you drive it off the lot. Or take delivery from the back of a trailer. What I was posting is merely stating a fact. Ferrari is notorious for propping up its own resell values to maintain the nice patina for the brand. Same with Patek in the luxury timepiece market. This is not news. At least not new news.
You speculated Ferrari bought the car in PB - do you know who actually did buy it? If Ferrari is notorious give me one example - what auction and what car. Should be easy since yo state they are notorious. You speculate the Stern family buys their Patek watches at auction - again one auction one time piece. Do you realize how silly that is - You think Piero Ferrari and Stern run around bidding at auctions or they authorize a blank check with a reserve to pay up to X dollar amount - can you imagine a board of shareholders or others would look if this action was real - this isn't Ma Pa we gots a goober idea - Of course there are shill bidders at many auctions - but to say the owners or shareholders is senseless. Do whatever - these posts are so whacked I can't understand what type of guys say this stuff and feel good about it. I don't have the energy to take all these wild stories one by one - you all do whatever you want - it's your choice to spread ill.
$1.1mm is crazy. I love it but feels like an outlier. I'm looking for a spider and the pricey ones generally sit on market forever.
https://www.motorcarclassics.com/2022-ferrari-sf90-spider-c-1250.htm so this car was listed at $850k for a while. I recall seeing it. kind of odd.
... and someone who did not buy it at $850K waited for an auction to have a chance to spend $1.1M + fees If one does not need a financial advice, this buyer (if he actually exists) is the right guy to contact.
