I know some people are going to start screaming when I say the Revuelto is having an massive effect on the SF90 Ferrari abandoned N/A too early IMO

Like others needing to hold their SF90’s while waiting for an XX, I’m not concerned about current values. However, it will be interesting see how values trend when more begin to flood the market as XX’s start arriving. Conventional logic has values coming down. But, with XX prices in the $1MM U.S. range, it’s plausible SF90 values might hold up reasonably well. After all, if they follow the Comp trend, XX’s will double in value and the SF90 is still relatively rare…
I think the SF90 Spyder will hold its value even when the XX version is hitting the street. I plan to keep both for a while. The light special cars are great, but not for long trips with the wife. Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat
I bought every large displacement engine - Viper Lambo SV Speciale then Senna 765LT as they were the best turbo / performance. Fast forward SF90 and XX on order - the battery eliminates turbo lag adds more instant power etc. You can shout dislike - meanwhile your sig other prefers them (kidding) but at some point ya gotta give it a rest. I believe the best drivers cars have already been built but if you want to go faster you can't argue with proven success. When was the last time the new model was slower!
Sometimes it's not always about going faster from Point A to Point B. Sometimes, especially nowadays, it's about the experience of getting from Point A to Point B. Speed is easy. Emotions? Not so much.
That’s certainly true. I love driving our 930 Turbo. You really have to think about it. It may be both the least and most pure car we have in our garage (maybe most ‘honest’ is a better description). That’s not to take away from the SF90 though. To me it has a sort of purity too. It doesn’t try to hide its tech, instead it uses it to deliver a certain kind of driving experience. If you accept it for what it is, like the 930 turbo, it has kind of an iconic feel about it. The turbo on the 930 added weight very much in the wrong place and heavily disturbed the purity of the throttle, yet was developed with just one purpose in mind - to go faster! Nowadays, when the Turbo’s speed seems more normal, many have come to love the massive lag, massive boost feel of the 930 turbos and prices for good ones have responded accordingly. It’s unique, special, very emotive and gives you the feel of driving a certain piece of racing history. Put it this way, I have the 930 Turbo in our garage and love diving it, but don’t have an SC or 3.2 and don’t have any real desire for one. I think it’s special. I think the SF90 is too.
Agree and said the best drivers cars have already been made - totaled my Carrera GT and luckily walked away. If you want to go faster / safer with ease the newer models get it done. I do not drive to get from point A to B but it's important to get to point B first. Emotions are personal for everyone, simply why car guys run out of room. SF90 makes so much sense - It doesn't replace anything, in a league of it's own. Love Lambo but they make them for Italians 5'10 and under.
Took out my 2007 turbo 911 with 90,000 miles on it. Still fun to drive. Downside, 5 speed triptronic and even with the variable turbos, there is turbo lag. Very dependable car. Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat
I sort of miss old school turbo lag. I used to have a 1988 Supra Turbo, and the kick in the backside when the turbos spooled up was, in retrospect, really really awesome.
First of all, I am really glad you walked away unscathed! Secondly, and this is a philosophical issue not related only to the CGT, I never really understood why some people regard a wild/misbehaving/spiky car as pure or enjoyable. Ask any racing driver and they will tell you that the best car is a benign one! A car should work with you, not against you!
Ha ! That’s what we have in common Lance. 997.2 Turbo with 80k miles. Still a blast. Within my limits mostly My 812 GTS lives in wet. Almost killed my self the other day. Just a little blip and …./ well you know. 911. Bulletproof. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I get my aggression out on the racetrack where it is much safer and I have all of the FIA safety features on me and my car. In the last 10 years I have spent +350 days on track and finished 100 races in a Ferrari Challenge car. No cops either though I did get a speeding ticket at Imola in the pit lane. Thanks. CGT - sound and manual roadster of a lifetime. Eight years was when not if and would never allow a passenger on a "fun" drive. Sideways on a bend in the road - loose pavement spun into barrier 20+ - cracked tub when the repair shop was ordering parts. Called insurance and they demanded total loss as they stopped insuring CGT's. Agree unpredictable car is on edge - purchased from race car driver original owner very quietly - he warned me.
Im in PB most the year. You won't be disappointed I'm tall and put out on the first date. I'm curious now - since you are posting in this section - you have an SF90 or XX on order or you drive a ?
Sorry just saw this - shared below. BTW I know you do from RL. I bought Eric's 16M years ago when he traded it for a CGT - he convinced me to get one too.
I read / post in threads that I would like to learn or share. Enjoy your F8 and perhaps you and others here will let owners learn and enjoy their SF90. Ever been to a car show - walk in a section that you have zero skin in and tell the owners their car sucks. Some guys actually use their real name or people know them and many of us have been on forums for a long long time and some guys use fake names to piss in threads.
I’ve never understood the joy some get from treading on others on a car forum. As for using real names, I’ve admitted before having changed mine from Quagglechek, to make it harder for all these damn kids I’ve fathered to find me. Every one shows up on my doorstep looking for money…which cuts into my new car budget.
