How is the feeling of SF90 buyers after the 296 release? Considering a switch to the 296 ? Can it really be more "fun"?

It will be fun doing corners. I am excited!! But as a whole package, i would choose SF90 for the road and track. There is something really apealing about SF90. I never felt this charm(even though it is hard to discribe) from the Ferraris. Only car this apealing was LP640 which is all time my favorate flagship.

I think it can be more “fun” but the SF90 has the higher performance. I am excited by both. I am just so happy they are making a car that is physically smaller- the cars have gotten a little too big over the past few years in my opinion.

Difference between the Hurrican and the Aventador. Both have their place.

Not that spending $350K on a car is cheap but $600K is pretty rarefied territory for most.

I will have both but will still be humbled by the Tesla Model S Plaid, which will dust both apparently...what a time to be alive!

In a way, I hope you are right but from what I am seeing the Tesla will be hard to beat. But speed is relatively cheap and not the main metric that drives my enjoyment of exotics. I could buy 10 Teslas and not have the satisfaction of 1 SF90 or 296 :D

If speed is your primary criteria, the Plaid would be your choice at a fraction of the price of any comparable super car. But for many, the emotion generated during the journey is more significant than how quickly you arrive. A jet plane travels at 500 MPH, but I have never been excited by that speed when travelling on a plane.

I think they have done a great job with 296 and I think it will be a great car. It’ll do a different job in the range to the SF. I don’t plan on buying one at the moment (SF and Comp coming, running out of a need for it with Pista and Speciale in my garage) and I don’t feel it poses any kind of problem for the SF which is a V8, 1,000hp and more performance. If they do a Pista 296 that might be different, especially if it ended up being 300+ kilos lighter than the SF but with nearly 900hp.

"Humbled" and "dust"ed in what way? 0-60 mph performance? Who cares? Certainly not me. What about handling performance, braking performance, overall feel of the car, build quality...0-60 mph is one VERY small part of the overall performance driving equation.

Personally, I would take a 458 Speciale, GT3 RS, etc over a SF90 or 296 any day of the week. A lighter, more nimble feeling car (i.e. more go-cart like) is the key to driving nirvana IMHO.

Hey now! My name can’t be cupcake because I don’t eat sugar anymore. LOL.

Anyway, I don’t have electric cars. I just see that they can be damn fast. Still a lover of my exotics and hope to see more cool crossovers that combine the best of emotion and improved performance.

Sugarless cupcakes are readily available. Splenda, Stevia etc are sugar substitutes. In any event, they are not healthy.

On the subject of a Tesla be quicker. Really? There’s so much more to a car then that. I had an order in for the plaid for almost a year and cancelled. Electric cars are boring. There’s no soul. It’s like falling in love with your IPhone. Not gonna happen.

Not sure how the "Maytag washing machine of automobiles" got brought into this discussion but I apologize for my part in contributing to the thread creep.

I would love to hear more thoughts on the OP's question. These hybrid models are not my cup of tea but, like them or not, they certainly appear to be the future for all performance-car manufacturers.

Saw the 296 in the flesh today at my dealer. H fortunately it had the silver/yellow hideous paint job shown with the AF pack - I would have preferred Rosso Corsa. Car is beautifully proportioned and the engine cover treatment is really nice. It does not have the presence of the SF90 in the flesh.

I’ve been in a big debate with this one.

Gone back and forth over SF vs 296.

Put a deposit down on a 296 w/ Assetto Fiorano pack yesterday..

    Making the right decision?!

Just wondering if with the shorter wheelbase etc, it’ll feel like a more nimble/‘fun’ car? I do think the SF looks are 10x more aggressive though.

    Decisions..

I saw the 296 at our dealer this evening. I’ve loved the SF90 since the beginning, the look, and now I know the drive is brilliant too, since owning ours for 500 or so miles. Speaking as an owner of the bigger car, I can say the 296 is even more successful aesthetically. It doesn’t have the SF90’s presence but it is so beautifully balanced and good to look at. It’s a triumph and prettier than the SF90. I think it’s sensational and wonderfully resolved. A future classic design. Actually can’t quite believe how good it looks. Loved the grey/yellow livery too.
